Actually the best rogue-like on the market, and so many fun little attention to detail bits and thoughtful design. cant recommend more highly

It is a decent follow up to the original, as far as systems and gameplay are concerned. The story I found to be a bit more slightly lacking, though its still an enjoyable experience all told.

Although some may not enjoy Pyre's gameplay, as it plays a bit like a sport game (in fact it sort of resembles lacrosse in a way), there is no denying that Supergiant Games knows what they are doing when it comes to story. Just like Bastion and Transistor, Pyre creates characters that you readily form bonds with and care about as the story unfolds, and the atmosphere yet again is simply stunning. The soundtrack and artwork are beautiful and the story is robust and connectable. Its definitely worth taking the time to embrace the learning curve of the gameplay in order to experience the story that Pyre has to offer. As far as the gameplay is concerened, after you figure it out it is very enjoyable, and runs very smoothly. I have a couple of gripes about hitboxing and perspective, but they are relatively minor.

Overall: 8.5/10

The most innovative shooter I've played in years.

All joking aside, SUPERHOT is fantastic! With a unique mechanic that never got old, and many challenges which switch up the basic rules of the game entirely, SUPERHOT was fun for all 16 hours it took to perfect. Cracking the secret to each level was some of the most fun I've had in a video game in a long time, and I hope the devs continue to creating charming masterpieces such as this.

Honsetly, Transistor is the single most brilliant game I have ever played. Every aspect of both gameplay and the narrative is 100% on point. Combat first: Transistor is completely intelligence based. The combat system is remarkable in that you don't have to have amazing at aiming or have super fast reflexes, but you just have to use some common sense. The way your abilities work in tandem is unprecedented and the sheer amount of ways you can fight is brilliant. The turn function is amazing and it opens up worlds of possiblities, but I suggest that people not use it 100% of the time as fighting in real time is somewhat amazing and powerful. The combat only gets better when you start your recursions (or New Game ). The way you can modify the abilities you have as you receive copies of those abilities during the recursion is so powerful and opens up new doors into how you can approach combat. Transistor has the most innovative combat system I've seen to date and is completely enjoyable. The story is jawdropping in its scale and complexity. It may be hard to understand in the first half of your first game, however once you understand the world and how the transistor works and the motivation of the antagonists in the game, everything meshes wonderfully. The OVC terminals also add a lot to the game as you get glimpses into what Cloudbank was before the Process. And, of course, the ending is jaw-droppingly good. Combine the story and combat with the glorious soundtrack and beautiful art and you have yourselves what Transistor is: an 11/10 game. Years later, a playthrough of this game is still a beautiful work of art.

This game is amazing. The story is one of the best in a video game to date, and it really brings to life the feel of the graphic novels. I never felt let down across any of the 5 episodes, and the moral and action choices really shine. The game's ability to put you in the place of Bigby Wolf, and to feel the emotional and situational tension of the world and characters around you is unparalleled, and I hope that Telltale willb ring back the world and the characters for an equally amazing Season 2.
