No one forgot. Harada won't shut up about it, even in his (deleted) apology.
Enjoying the story is perfectly fine and valid! However, most players came for the "PvP", not cliff-tossing, retcons, or Heihachi's illegitimate kids (as per global completion %).
Bamco knows this. They know what they can/can't charge for (e.g. FOMO).
The stage was just the last straw for many, after all the other monetization layers.
>On balance
Two wrongs don't make a right. This isn't the Tekken 5 era; connections are fast & patches normal. Teasing balance updates shows they see the issues. Besides, they wanted this to be a live-service. Competitive integrity aside, when a select few characters eclipse the rest they shouldn't be allowed to run amok for months.
>On transparency
Agreed. Sadly, that's nothing new with Bandai (see their other franchises).
Expect more of the same as execs seem to use T8 to recoup their other IP's losses.
