Med2 and Rome players are not on your side shogun fanatics. Shogun has the same exact warscape engine problems that empire has just perfumed up and with a fresh coat of paint. Sliding units? Got it, constant unit clipping through one another? got it. Everything a 1v1 duel? got it. Unit collision? what is that. The Spartans didn't lose the battle of Thermopylae because the entire Persian army clipped through their line and slaughtered them from behind that way. Sure the AI is better and the game looks better than empire yet again so does medieval 2, but the combat comes down to the same exact flaws that makes empire a pain to enjoy. Shogun is not the pinnacle of the total war franchise and it will never be. It will always be Medieval 2 as the apex of the series and the original Rome as the greatest leap forward.

With all that said however if you REALLY want to play a total war game with the warscape engine this game is the only viable choice.

Thanks paradox for the new dharma update that forces estates and making it so territories are unconvertable and increase corruption. things nobody asked for. theres a reason that everyone hated cossacks or were disillusioned by it at best and you're just forcing it on everyone now. oh and the 300$ worth of dlc among other things if you get mods that undo these stupid "features" then the game could be alot of fun. Im not going to stop playing this game but I dont support the direction its taking or the direction paradox is taking it.

same thing as rome 1 but where its almost impossible to disengage cavalry without half the unit dying.
