Not particularly far into the game, but as someone who's put a good few thousand hours into the Souls series I'll give my two bits.

I usually hate Souls-likes since they tend to just be "Dark souls but X" with X usually standing in for "worse" but so far I'm enjoying this. I've not really dug deep into the mechanics yet but they are interesting, and there is a lot of them (compared to DS). It plays like a slightly slower Dark souls IMO with some very weighty combat but there is an abundance of dark souls parallels which make anyone familiar with the series right at home.

Muliplayer seems much more straight forward. You can just select to beckon a random, a friend, join someone or invade straight from this games bonfire equivalent. You can also put a password on like the later Souls titles for easy co-op.
Co-op also doesn't seem to end when a boss is defeated, but I'll need to look into that more.

Atmosphere wise I think its closest to the Demons Souls remake, the character creation screen was very similar. Armour and weapons (so far) have a more grounded style like what's found in Boletaria.

Performance wise I cant complain. Everything on High with my frames capped to 120 and they haven't dipped below 115 yet, other than some hitches when loading in at the very start of the game. 1440p ultrawide with a OC'd 3080 is above recommended specs so take that with a pinch of salt.

Performance is less than expected but not the worst I've seen

Game is pretty badly optimised, however I'm personally not seeing the same results as many others. I'm getting near constant 60fps with relatively few dips and those tend to happen out of combat when new areas are loading

The game itself is much more action horror than true survival horror. Combat is decent enough if a bit clunky with dodging not always being the most reliable thing in the world.

Enemy designs are pretty fantastic imo, I'm a sucker for body horror and it does it very well.

Hopefully a patch or two will clean up the stutter issues.
