I clocked just over ten hours of my time with this game during one of the "Free to Play" weekend deals because I had watched this game promote itself prior to and through it's adventure backpacking across Eur...Epic Games. While my thoughts on that has no place in a review I can say that despite them I took the plunge into the warm waters of the "Free to Play Weekend" special. I came out of that adventure ten wholesome hours later, oddly enjoying myself despite the storm of mixed emotions it came with. Feeling obliged to buy once the Steam Summer Sale came around I decided that this game fits my initial description well...and Hell if I'm not a sucker for a cheesy hook.

All games have issues, yet it's how that game and the Developers handle those issues are what makes the game worth playing.While I'm not sure thing have been handled here well or frequently, I can say for a reasonable price this game can offer some distractions. So if you're looking for a rogue-like grindish shooter in space with plenty of weirdness and 'unique' features then feel free to pick this up. It certainly scratched an itch I didn't know I had. 6/10

How would you like to play a game where you are instantly thrown into the deep end of running a multi-echelon company and crippling financial crisis? Where one of the first people you meet will hate your family and do anything to crawl out from under your father's shadow. You and your sure to be arch-nemesis will stop at nothing to crush the other in blood-curdling capitalistic warfare? Spend your days conducting a million tributary tasks to provide for the never ending onslaught of work and tasks driving you to an early grave. Mining, Lumber processing, Relic Hunting, Hunting, Building, Decorating, Exploring, Fighting, Buying, Selling, and don't forget to Socialize!
Any multitasker worth their weight in crafting components will enjoy being swamped with 'to-do' lists and the never ending quirkiness that is 'My Time at Portia' while others may find part of their game slipping maddeningly away as they try desperately to cling to another aspect elsewhere.
End of the day, two keyboard calloused hands applaud this game.
