It's a great game to chill and play with friends! Unless your friends are douchebags.

So I'm not sure if I'm a very strange case, but last night I installed this game to play with a friend, and while I was actively playing it, I decided to toggle vsync, and my entire computer became unresponsive. Upon subsequent reboots, I was met with a blue screen talking about a .efi file. After a few hours of trying different things, I was able to isolate the problem to the hard drive that the game was installed on, which thankfully was separate from my windows OS. Without that drive plugged in, everything booted up fine. I then plugged in the drive again with the computer on to remove the game from the drive via steam/steamapps/common. Everything seems to be working totally fine after I did that.

My review has no bearing on the content of the game itself, but this is my story. I've played We Were Here Together recently and had a blast. Either my situation is very niche, or somebody has been nefarious with the files. This is more of a PSA if anyone ever has the same problem as me, I hope they find this.

NecroDancer takes a young woman through randomly generated dungeons... Dungeons in which she must move in time with the music to stay alive. In her travels, she occasionally comes across people in cages, whom she attempts to free where possible. In return, they graciously supply her with items such as armor, weapons, rings, recovery items, and more, which she will need if she ever wishes to see her father again.

As I've said above, this game is dungeon crawler with a twist: moving in time with the music. The enemies, which are diverse and build upon each other, are also restricted to this rule. If you miss a beat, you'll likely lose a chance at making a move that would put you in a more favorable position. In addition, if the song ends before you reach the stairs, the game drops you to the next stage immediately.

I've only played the game on keyboard and the controls are simple enough. Something to note is that there are many usable items in NecroDancer, which require you to press two keys at once to use them, which can be frustrating if you mess up. It might be easier with an 8-way d-pad on a controller. There's quite a few different unlockable characters you can play as, including the bard, who can move whenever he wants with no regard to the music. There's also a co-op mode that I haven't experienced.

Where this game really shines is that you can painlessly add your own music to play alongside. You can do this by picking the specific level you want to add a song to, choosing an mp3 file from the window that comes up, and the game will pick the pace of movement for you. I've had fun with songs with a consistent beat so far, and I'm looking forward to experimenting with adding different genres in the future.

NecroDancer looks great, with its 16-bit art style. The way enemies move in time with the music is fun, because literally all of them can't help but dance! There's an option that's on by default that makes the dungeons look like a dance floor by alternating the colors of the floor tiles.

Pros:
*Endless replayability, with randomly generated levels and the ability to add songs
*A co-op mode
*A great soundtrack
*Challenging movement that makes you feel good when you get it down

Cons:
*It's difficult to use items when playing on keyboard
*The odd movement can take some getting used to

This was my introduction to the Shantae series, and I'm loving it so far.

It's a high quality metroidvania with platforming and tight controls to fit.

Featuring a pixeled art style, with impresive animations. Many of the characters also have full art pop outs that come up when you talk to them.

I've been playing with a controller, which is supported natively. I do wish you could change the controller config in the game though.

The writing and story is above average for a game like this. It's entertaining enough to not be pointless. It also seems to have callbacks to previous Shantae games for fans of the series.

There's also a fair amount of replayability, if you care about achievements.

Pros
*Great environment to explore
*Fantastic animations
*Enemy diversity
*Native controller support
*Keyboard controls make sense and can be changed

Cons
*Some of the collectables seem too tough to get to, but they're not required to beat the game
*No option to change controller config

As someone that's used the free version, this is definitely a step in the right direction.

It's simple, easy to use, and works great. It also comes with many features, like hiding the mouse cursor and taskbar while in-game.

After you add a game to favorites through Borderless Gaming, it automatically applies the settings to it when you launch the software in the future, which I find very convenient.

Meet Isaac, a child raised by his mother. One day she is told by God that her son has become corrupted and must be relieved of his earthly possessions. God then tells her to she needs to kill her son, which Isaac doesn't think is a very good idea. He then plunges himself down a trapdoor to escape his mothers lust to please her God.

This Zelda-like dungeon crawler has virtually endless replayability. Each time you begin, the game randomly generates floors for you to fight through to get to your mom, the main antagonist. The variety continues as you unlock other characters to start out as, each having his/her own special attributes. The Wrath of the Lamb DLC adds many new bosses and items.

Gameplay on keyboard uses the wasd keys for movement and arrow keys for directional shooting by default. On controller, it acts much the same, utilizing both analog sticks. This game was made in flash and isn't very well optimized. It lags often (and occasionally crashes), mostly dependent on how crazy the items you picked up are, which brings me to the item combinations. There are many items in The Binding of Isaac that synergize with each other, adding to the uniqueness of each run. There are also many unlockable playable characters.

The game is played from a top-down perspective. The floor is separated by rooms that are all the same size, but there is a ton of variety between them. The aforementioned Wrath of the Lamb DLC adds many more rooms to discover and explore. The sound effects in The Binding of Isaac would be unsettling for any new player, but it grows on you the more you play. The soundtrack was constructed by Danny Baranowsky, who's work is also in Crypt of the NecroDancer.

Although it has its flaws, it's an amazing roguelike I'd recommend The Binding of Isaac to anyone looking to get the most out of their money. Isaac has given me over 500 hours of gameplay, and I'll still feel like knocking out a run from time to time. With the amount of characters, items, and rooms it's possible to encounter, no two runs through this game will ever be the same.

Pros:
*Great soundtrack
*Many different enemies
*Replayability
*No two games are ever the same

Cons:
*Poorly optimized
*Lags often
*Crashes on occasion

TF2's unbelieveable younger brother, Team Fortress is just too unworthy to anyone that has been spoiled with TF2's superior graphics, enhanced differences to classes, different weapons, and, probably the biggest and best gimmick of all, free. However, as this is the game that spawned the worlds best f2p, this game deserves some good feedback. Since it has lower graphics, everything loads faster, and it gave me nostalgia like no other! I recommend this for anybody who has a terrible computer, or that wants a standard old-school shooter.

I was a bit dissapointed with how this game looked, but I still had to give it a try. Despite it's first impressions, I like this game. It has a good storyline, protagonist, weapons, and enemies that make you think. Many may think that the game is bad just by how it looks, and that holds true for many games, but certainly not Half-Life. If your one of those people that have that physical disability and can't play games that have low graphical output, then I definitely Reccommend Black Mesa (Half-Life remake with Half-Life 2 graphics), but I will always be partial to the original Half-Life.

Every game needs zombies, apparently. Even a 8-bit two dollar game. I give credit where it's due though, this game is possibly the best investment i've made in a while. With a virtually unbeatable price, local co-op, different game modes, unlockables, achievements, tons of different classic guns, various items, different kinds of zombies, and upgradeable attributes, this game is a must try. Admit it, the price is too good to ignore.

If you were to get either of the Left 4 Dead games, then this is your choice. Better than the original. With more playing modes, four more characters to play as, new weapons, and more infected species, it's Left 4 Dead reloaded!
