Albion Online is a sandbox mmorpg in which you get to write your own story, instead of following a laid out path. Explore a vast open world consisting of different unique biomes. Everything you do has an impact on the world, as in our player-driven economy every piece of equipment is crafted by players from resources gathered from players. The equipment you wear defines what you are. Switching from knight to magician is as easy as switching your armor and your weapon, or be a combination of the two. Venture out into the world or into dungeons and face Albion's inhabitants and wildlife. Go on expeditions to encounter even more challenges. Fight other players in open world clashes. Fight over territory, or city control in tactical group battles. Relax by retreating to your personal island. Build a home. Grow crops. Raise animals. Join a guild! Everything is more fun when you work together. Leave your mark in the world. In Albion, everybody matters.

DO NOT BUY!

Look I was hopeful for this game, I bought it day 1 and didn't refund because I knew how long it took KSP1 to become playable.

This game will never be playable, it will likely never have half of the promises made on the road maps, and will only hit a 1.0 launch as a cash grab.

The entire studio has been laid off by their parent company. This game should be de-listed from steam.

Intro -
Do you like Arma 2/3 Wasteland Servers?
Are you okay with Early Access titles that have some performance and gameplay loop issues?
Do you like devs that are extremely active in their discord offering beta test environments and live feedback?
Do you want to volunteer and actually test an Early Access title and provide helpful feedback while enjoying a new game?

You probably need to answer yes to all of these before you think about buying this game in the current state. I love this game so far and think it will make great advancements in the near future, but currently there are some performance hiccups, server issues, and the main gameplay loop is not fully fleshed out.

Performance hiccups -
Game runs, "alright" currently,

***SPECS***
GPU - RTX 3070 TI 8GB w/ 32GB shared memory from RAM
CPU - i7-12700 no OC
RAM - 4x16GB 3200MHz DDR4
Storage - 500GB NVME

I get roughly 40-70 FPS with minimal stutters on this setup. I would recommend not using AMD FSR as the blur was unbearable for me. I took the performance hit for true resolution.

Server Issues -
I have had maybe 5 server disconnects in 5 hours of true gameplay on launch day. All during prime time hours for east coast.

Which was annoying but only the first disconnect lead to any gear / progress loss and the disconnects were fully expected considering the load on their servers.

Game play loop issues -
So far I love the PVE content, I have heard it gets repetitive and is entirely dependent on how the AI are functioning that day. Different server conditions can lead to some AI being cracked gods sniping you for miles, or just braindead bullet sponges.

I have had very little PVP experience so far. The few encounters I had were right when I started the game getting my settings and graphics correct. I have heard there are some hitreg and netcode issues that need to be addressed as well as motivation to actually PVP, but that is content I am sure they have planned down the line.

From my gameplay I have zero reason to not believe those things.

Conclusion -
Currently a fun game if you like PVE Milsim games and have a rig capable of playing, or dont mind some performance issues. I have no doubt this company will make this game great, just hope they dont get burnt out from working so hard on it now.

This game is honestly just getting review bombed at this point because its fun to ♥♥♥♥ on Blizzard Activision. Its not great, there are issues, but the multiplayer still plays pretty well. This is not an "overwhelmingly negative" game. Its mid, and I wish the reviews could reflect that.

Also just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ remove Mercy from this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game.

The amount of war-crimes and drugs I have forced my settlers to do is truly amazing.

This was a huge let down, i will be beating this all the way through again, although if you havent bought it yet dont, but for a remaster of an insanely popular game to have only 6000 people playing on launch this will sadly die. RIP my dreams of having DS1 be around for a little while longer. Back to DS3 it is.
