Let me start off by saying there’s a lot of cool stuff to be seen, huge radroaches launching themselves at you for one.

But then the game lets you down and breaks your realism. For example you hold weapons with one hand (which works for pistols but not laser rifles, mini guns etcetera).

Then, you go to stick your head in Shaun’s crib to get a good luck at the baby and your thrown back four feet as you’ve hit a collision box.

So you say “Nevermind, let’s look at my wife”. You realise then that every character in the game is two foot taller than you no matter what height you are in real life. In my case I had a huge 6ft 3 wife stood over me and no ability to change my height in game.

There also appears to be a lot of issues at the moment with frame skipping, stuttering and general blurry graphics. They do not provide any graphics option in game and it seems to overwrite any steam options you select. This forces you to play the game looking at glinting pixels.

Furthermore the game as a whole seems to be a port of the standard game with a VR module attached. People are already installing mods as it’s the same base game. This means there’s no novelty VR interaction. You can’t even spin Shaun’s crib using your actual hand, you just hit a key!

They’ve really missed the ball here. If they can clean up the optimisation, add graphic sliders and more character customisation and fix stupid stuff like one handed mini guns, giant NPCs and no real VR interaction with objects they might have a happy customer.

Alas, for now they don’t
