Preamble
----------------
I used to dump a lot of time into Moba's (Heroes of Newerth & Heroes of the Storm) but both those games are dead or dying. I've been looking for something to scratch that Moba itch unfortunately this is not it at least in its current state.

This review is based of quick play matches mostly with randoms if you have a full team or are at a highly competitive level perhaps some of the issues aren't as bad. This review is for the general masses.

Issues
--------------
- Game Balance is just not there in its current state. Ranged heroes are just to powerful compared to most of the melee options not to say melee isn't viable its just very uphill. You'll notice going melee in the carry lane is a death sentence as you'll be harassed out of the lane with nukes and auto attacks, while slightly more viable in mid and offlane, (melee spellcasters being the exception) depending on the matchup the only real place it works is the jungle.

- While on the ranged topic one factor that makes them un-viable is the lack of chase or more the fact that most enemies have escapes. If you compare it to other mobas you can't back pedal and auto attack at the same time which makes kiting much easier to do in this type of game. If the enemy is smart they can make it really hard on you to feel effective or lose over half your health just getting to them.

-Items are also the other big factor in the game. While I wouldn't say items are un-balanced but the way they affect the heroes and how damage is done some items are just straight up better than other ones, and also a lack of synergy between heroes and items. Carry is loose term in this game since most of the heroes lack any abilities that hard scale of items such as passive's or proc's or that kind of thing.

- One affect items have is that you'll notice in the current state all the support heroes especially decker will stack carry items and be almost just as effective if not better than other carry options since the effects of the items are essentially the same regardless of hero due to the lack of passives or skill synergies. So ya if you play support be ready to build your hero like a ADC beast because that's whats in right now and it works.

- Tanks? what tanks? The role is mostly non-existent due to the shear amount of damage range dps builds can put out and items they can get that nullify your defence. A little bit of armour is nice but don't go a full tank build because they'll just negate all your armour and you won't be able to punch out nearly enough damage that they can. (you can get away with a tank build if your wrecking the other team but I mean anything pretty much works at that point...)

Summary
------------
-Melee heroes have a hard time tanking, chasing and escaping when compared to there ranged counterparts.
-Items provide no real synergies so any hero can perform well with the same load out.
-Damage output is so great that items for tanking or support tend to get out shined
-Support builds like an ADC because it helps the team out more than actually supporting.

Conclusion
-------------
In its current state I can't recommend the game which is a shame because I really want to like it. Hopefully things change for the better.
