I'm quite known for my wordiness, and this game genuinely left me speechless. In tears. But also speechless.

I don't think anything will ever top this as the most perfect game to ever grace the world. It is visually beautiful, for a start. The art and design of the two sections of the game are full of nuance and tiny details that breathe life into the story. The mechanics are simple enough that even those who don't enjoy platformers can easily pick up, which allows you to be wholly absorbed into the narrative - and what a narrative.

The story of the game covers a difficult topic with grace and delicacy, bringing you on a journey where you will cry, but that's okay. You will also laugh, through the tears. The protagonist is Izzy, a young girl who wishes to be a writer. And write she does. A story, within a story and both so heartfelt and compassionate that it draws you in. You also make choices, ask questions which influences the story and makes it even more personal. It's a very personal journey, especially for many right now, but as bittersweet as it is, I came away with a great sense of catharsis.

To me, this is perfection. Heartfelt, beautiful perfection.

My favourite lines from it are these:

"I'm not great company right now"
"That's okay, you don't need to be"

A very dark but lovingly made puzzle game. Definitely worth grabbing, especially if it's on sale!

Note: I'm not a horror gamer, I wimped out of Amnesia the first time I met the monster and flat out refuse to play anything remotely jump scare orientated.

So when I got gifted this by a friend, I was hesitant to play.

9 hours down the line and I can say that I'm a little bit of an adrenaline junkie. There's nothing quite like wandering around a house insulting a ghost's lineage, asking if it likes baked goods or telling it bad jokes in the name of Evidence. To get a bit cocky about things, then all of a sudden there's a huff in your ear that goes through your soul and you screech like a little girl.

Being with your friends makes this game way more fun than it has any right to be.

At the time of writing, I've played 41 hours over the course of a week. It's a highly addictive quick to pick up, difficult to master game that you can choose to make even more challenging for yourself depending on how much you hate yourself.

I would *definitely* recommend this game, no question.

I didn't think I'd find a game that would match up to the Zoo Tycoon of my youth, but damn this is good.

I'm about 4 hours in to my current save file and have discovered I'm a fantastic detective but an absolutely rubbish cultist.

It's okay though, I can just...remove my Rivals before they become too bothersome.

A roundhouse kick in the nostalgia, Dishonored 2 holds very firmly onto the design, gameplay and world of its predecessor without sinking into stagnacity, escaping beyond the walls of Dunwall yet still retaining its intrinsic steampunk-esque character. Its dynamic gameplay, considerable in-level exploration and flexibility allows you to play as you *want* to play whether it be pacifist, mass murderer or ninja in the night. There is a certain satisfaction in ghosting one's way through a level, although I would recommend saving before AND after you think "I wonder if this might work..."

For those that enjoyed Dishonored, you are certain at least to enjoy the story development, aesthetics and the satisfaction of beating that one guard you've been waiting to walk past you for 5 minutes into a bloody pulp before chucking him in the dustbin.

A wonderful game with a beautiful art style. Darkest Dungeon is one of those games that's simple to grasp the basics of but difficult to master - add in the randomly generated dungeons and you have a recipe for instant chaos for the unwary. I hesitated when buying it at full price, but for a pre-released game it is suprisingly slick with very few bugs - running better than some fully released games!

The dark, lovecraftian story breeds an atmosphere that will get your own heart pounding as your heroes adventure deep into the dungeon. My advice? Read everything, upgrade as much as you can and don't forget your torches.
