City Of Fools cannot simply be described by a mere review. However I shall try my best to give justice to this beautiful depiction of a capitalistic, dystopian society.

Indulgence and excess is rife amongst the city of Tundel. However - This is no paradise.
Despite its joyous residents and happy go lucky "Fools" roaming the streets; there are darker things afoot amongst the winding roads and bustling markets.
This is a city that is plagued by a conspiracy that it demands to keep supressed from its general populace, lest they break from their happy malaise and realise that the world beyond their rose tinted glasses is nothing more than a farce.

This is a tale as old of time. You play as a renowned journalist, sent by careless management and demanding corporate behind enemy lines to discover the true secrets beneath Tundel City's shadows. A journalist such as yourself must have been on hundreds, if not thousands of cases such as this - However, the danger surrounding Tundel could only be compared to that of a doomsday clock with its hands ticking ever so closer to midnight.

However - You are far from alone on this endeavour. You are joined by a mysterious member of the Tundel Police Force. A shadowy figure who seems to lurk behind every corner. Is he a friend ? Or is he simply waiting for the right moment to sink his teeth in ?

Romance is rife in the city of Tundel. There are multiple possible love interests all around. A lonesome widow with a habit for pipe smoking. An unfortunate proud civilian who finds himself trapped beneath the gutter. Even an Egyptian pharoah, trapped between time in his pyramid.

We have barely even touched the great narrative of City Of Fools. However, it would be a terrible crime to spoil the adventure ahead. You may now be wondering; what of the gameplay ?

The mechanics are fine tuned to a tee. Every movement between the sharp alleys and open parks feels way ahead of its time. The graphics, while not on tier with 2023's GOLLUM, are incredible, and the art style is something straight out of a Tolkien-esque tale.
If you are looking for the finest Mystery/Noir title in creation, look no further.
