OK now, I'll write a full review so that people can decide if they should buy this game.

When I first saw my friend playing it via Steam, I asked if this game could be interesting to me. He said it did, and I liked the screenshots so I decided to buy it and SotV expansion at one time - because why not? More content means more experience and emotions.

I wasn't disappointed though usually I don't like such games. Risk of Rain 2 provides you smooth and lovely graphics with good animations and it's beautifully optimised - well, until you reach stage 8 and FPS drops to 10-15=) You can perfectly feel your character's movement, see all the enemies and take decisions right in time to survive which is the main goal unless you have chosen the way you're going to end your run. Visuality - 9/10.

Let's talk about the gameplay itself. You choose a character with certain perks and loadout, then you spawn without anything and have to earn money by killing enemies. You can spend it on opening chests/terminals/donating to shrines of luck and obtain items which you need to increase your stats, earn some additional advantages and thus make your way forward. There are hundreds of different items here, as well as ways to get it, so you won't get bored and each build will be unique. If you don't want to just start a new default run, you can turn different artifacts on or play alternative game modes - Simulacrum (surviving enemies' waves in little areas), Prismatic Trials (beating 2 stages as fast as possible with some conditions) or Eclipse (hardest level of difficulty with additional things to make it harder). Boring? No, this is never about Risk of Rain 2. Gameplay - 10/10.

Now about the plot. At first glance, there is no story here - spawn, run, kill, complete, that's it. But take a little look deeper, and you'll see it. Hidden in items' logs, spreaded all over the locations, existing in characters, here comes one of the most wonderful stories you've ever heard. Continuing Risk of Rain lore, it spreads even wider, making your heart beat faster and your imagination tremble in exitement. No spoilers here, but read at least 1/10 of Lunar items' logs, find it in some locations and try to visualise it - oh my God, you either FEEL it or don't get any point. Just don't look at your brother when he's busy by his hobby. Lore - infinity/10.

To end this review, I'd say you'll need at least one friend to play with if you wanna have real fun and feel the whole amazement of playing RoR2. I never had troubles with it 'cause my friends were the one to let me in but you probably think it will be OK to play alone. Yes it will, but it's always better with friends - no matter which game we are talking about. Here it will be BETTER. That's it. Hope I helped you to understand why you should buy this game even if you are not a fan of genre. If I did, start this journey immediately! Just remember that items seeming useless are never really ones...
