If you think your tax dollars aren't being put towards road infrastructure, play this game and realize good you have it.

A couple years before No Man's Sky caught much traction, a close friend of mine had shown me its teaser website - the logo and title of the game, along with a 3-minute video briefly showcasing what the game would be about. As someone interested in space and video games, I was instantly hooked. With the lack of content available at the time, I decided to keep a mental tab on No Man's Sky while I waited.

As more people caught on and hype grew, I became more and more excited for the launch. But also a nagging question on the back of my mind, asking, "what if it's too good to be true?" My suspicions were pretty much spot on; the launch was disappointing - we've been over this. I was sad about it, but I was also taught a valuable lesson, one that is becoming more prevalent today as more triple-A titles overpromise and underdeliver on release, often times failing to get that much better, almost like some sort of cash grab opportunity. But what Hello Games did differently is that they continued to work on the game and deliver fantastic, free content, purely out of love for the game and the desire to make it better. It's clear that the way Hello Games interacts with their community and the content they push out shows they truly love this project. I've played this game at various points throughout its post-release development and each time it just gets better and better.

Through the years I've come to realize just what it is that I've wanted from No Man's Sky: a space exploration sandbox game that trumps all others. From a website with just the logo and title of the game and a promise of a galaxy full of billions and billions of full-size planets, to an underwhelming launch that taught us all a lesson, to a game that demonstrates what love and care from the developers can create, I've always kept an eye on No Man's Sky, hoping that one day it would bring me the sense of joy, wonder, and adventure that I envisioned having years ago when I first heard about it.

This most recent playthrough I'm on is giving me all of those feelings of wonder and excitement, filling a void in my life I didn't know was missing. I'm fortunate to have been able to experience firsthand what a labor of love can do for a game, through and through. I'm proud to say that despite its ups and downs, No Man's Sky is a game I've always believed in, and I couldn't be happier with the direction it's been going in.

Beautiful soundtrack, landscapes, and story. A wonderful world to explore and take some time to look at when you aren't running around killing enemies.
What strikes me most is the level design; this game has a clear sense of progression and it is very easy to understand where you are supposed to be and where you are not. The puzzles are carefully thought-out and very unique, without being so alien that they are frustrating. As you gain more and more different abilities by progressing through the game and in some instances, exploring the world, the puzzles and movement challenges become more difficult but offer increasingly satisfying rewards.

Play with a controller, if possible. The movement in this game is incredibly fluid.

Pretty great game. Singleplayer is fun, all around.

However, I will be focusing primarily on the online side of this game as that's what the majority of players will be doing.

The freeroam aspect of the game is really fun, but you don't really get that much money off of it, and when you first start off you will probably feel very restricted - getting cash isn't easy in this game, so unfortunately a way to circumvent this is to pay up to Rockstar and buy a Shark Card, and if you paid full price for the game it's not always worth spending much more if you don't play it that often. You could, of course, do heists, but those aren't super fun if you don't have friends to play with, and the payout is...okay. It's better than nothing, though.

All in all, I'd give it a 7/10 for being really fun, but there comes a lot of work that has to be done before you can really dive deep into the fun things, like flying cars.

If you came here because you heard about it from reading/watching No Man's Sky reviews, you won't be disappointed.

Starbound is a game where you are free to explore the universe with your trusty ship, decorated as you please. You can decide if you want it to look pretty, have utility, or be a mix of both. As you traverse through the game, you discover new features you haven't touched before, such as capture pods or fossils.

The story isn't the best, but there's extensive lore found in codexes around the universe. Most bosses are surprisingly fun to fight, and they're all unique. I will, however, say that personally, I enjoyed the storyline - others will disagree, but that's my opinion. I mean, hey, at least it has a story!

After completing the game, you may feel like you have nothing more to do. You've grinded to Tier 6 armor, beat all of the bosses, and read that charming Thank You message from Chucklefish Games. But what now? Well, this is always a different story for different people. You can either start over and go through from a different approach (take it slow, or speedrun!), or continue playing the game and discover features you didn't get to in the main storyline.

Some features you should look out for will be listed below:
  • Capture Pods
  • Fossils
  • Building (yes, this is really cool!)
  • Colonies
  • Rare weapon drops from bosses
  • Ship decorating
  • Farming
  • Lore Codexes
  • Ship Crews
Some of those features you may do by a regular, unguided playthrough of the game, such as farming and lore codexes, but there's just so much more to do after you've finished the game. I've spent 60 hours on one character in the past few weeks, and I finished the storyline about 20 hours into the character, yet I've still managed to spend more time discovering all of the cool features than I did just doing the main questline.

This game, as I've mentioned previously, does have building, and it's really good. I've spent a lot of time building structures on planets I've bookmarked, such as small or large colonies. The actual process of building can get frustrating at times, but once you've finished detailing the build you've spent the past 2 hours working on, it's really satisfying.

All in all, this game is well-supported by the developers and updated on a frequent basis. I've never seen a company be so dedicated to updating their game, and it makes me happy to see new updates.

I can definitely recommend this game. I've played through this game so many times, and each time I always find something new to play around with.

Now, my hours on this game is very minimal because I idle a lot on this game, as well as most of my playtime has been offline.

At first glance, Clicker Heroes looks like a game that doesn't have much depth. It's a game where you click monsters, kill them, and get gold to buy upgrades for heroes that give you more damage output. Simple, right? Well, not so much.

Within just a few hours of playing this game, I had already found that I actually had to look up guides to make this game more efficient. By using your Ascension power from unlocking Amenhotep, you'll soft restart the game and it will give you hero souls. Those are very important as they give you abilities such as purchasing Ancients, which will boost your DPS based on your playstyle (idle, active, or hybrid). These Ancients carry their abilities through Ascensions, which is incredibly useful for giving your next runthroughs a much-needed boost.

After just a few hours, I had already found that this game has much more depth than it seems, and the feeling of getting a lot of Hero Souls each run (which may last a few days for early runthroughs) is so incredibly satisfying, because you know it's really going to help.

There's a goal in this game. Yes, you can play through the levels as far as you'd like, but most people consider the game finished when you've gotten every possible achievement. And even then, people still keep playing.

Seriously, the first runthrough (you should aim for about level 140 then) will take 3 - 5 days, but once you've gone through this process many many times and have levelled up your Ancients several times, just imagine shortening that process of 3 - 5 days to get to level 140 to 10 minutes to get to level 2000. It's unreal.

I highly recommend this game as a way to casually pass the time, idle for a few days, or furiously click away and ruin your mice one by one.

It's completely free, so you have nothing to lose!

Early Access Review
I haven't played this game very much, but I can already tell that I'll continue to play it as a side-game (I mainly play other games not on Steam) to take breaks. It's definitely a great game to play with your friends and offers a great way to git gud and climb ranked ladders. Even in its beta stage, it has a great battle system, and it's completely free.

10/10 would play for the next 20 years of my life.

I haven't played this game very much, but my friend has very much, so I'm writing a review for them.

At first glance, you may ask yourself, "Should I buy this game?". This is a completely valid question.
Yes. You should buy this game.
For yourself, your friends, buy a 4-pack and give copies to everybody you know. This game will teach you the very meaning of life; the essentials that will help you in your survival of the fittest.
The knowledge and education that this game gives you is almost as good as the quality of this fantastic game.

General Menu
There are only a few options in the settings; a very simplistic style for those of you who don't want to think. At all.
You are given a small set of options, and every one of these will crash your game, but that's good. In life, you will have to learn not to crash. Ever. Crashing is bad.

Gameplay
The gameplay is extremely smooth, and there are absolutely no glitches in the game. None.
You will find this game is extremely cooperative with your computer and is not very intense on your system. A $10 graphics card or a $1,000 graphics card won't make a difference; you'll still run at a constant 3 frames per second, but at least it's smooth! Right? Right...?

Storyline
The storyline of this game is fantastic.
From killing cats with rats to, well, killing cats with rats, you will find that you will be able to relieve all of your anger by playing this game.
After playing this game, you will most likely cry tears of joy because of how beautiful the storyline in this game is. There is no doubt that this game has the very best story in the history of Dota gaming.

10/10 would recommend this game to anybody.
