Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is a BEAUTIFUL addition to the R&C franchise and captures the very essence of playing R&C.

The environments are probably the BEST part about this title for me. It's one of the most beautiful games I've ever played, the sheer amount of small details is extraordinary. This game is worth playing on the best computer you have available.

There are just enough collectibles to make each area feel "explored", and the story guides you directly to the upgrade for your map that shows you the rest of the secrets. I was able to 100% my first playthrough in around 12 casual hours of gameplay on the "Normal"-equivalent difficulty setting without any guides or walkthroughs.

The combat feels fluid, the tracking on your weapons and wrench/hammer feels exactly how you'd want it to. The upgrade system is very akin to previous titles, including the additional levels during the Challenge Mode (NG ) Playthrough. The Raritanium/Node upgrade system allows you to push a gun in whatever direction you prefer (more ammo/area of effect/additional projectiles/etc.) while making each weapon have a unique feel.

Enemies lack a bit in variety though, so by the end of the title you're definitely used to what you're fighting. Many of the minibosses feel SUPER samey, and I'm not sure there's any enemy type that doesn't have a line-beam attack - but it still feels good to fight these enemies that are present. The framing of combats helps tell the story and none of them feel arduous, even if you end up dying once or twice.

The story for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart in my opinion is just good. You feel for the characters, a lot of the jokes are tongue-and-cheek references to older games in the series, but in the modern age of video gaming I guess I had hoped that the story would have been a bit more epic that it was. I'm currently around 1/2 way through my Challenge Mode playthrough, and I'm definitely skipping nearly every cutscene, puzzle, etc. that I can in an effort to call it "done".

Overall this game is probably a 4 or 4.5 out of 5 for me. If you're going to play it, take your time through the stages and try to 100% your first playthrough, it's absolutely worth it.

Marbles on Stream (MoS) is an AMAZING title for streamers. A simple physics-based RNG machine, MoS allows for unlimited possibilities in creating a "Just Chatting" stream with a game for everyone to play. Whether you're racing through the official Pixel By Pixel courses in a Grand Prix, battling to the death in a Marbles Royale, or attempting to keep the marbles on the track while playing Tilted Mode, there's a little something for everyone here - all with the added perk of chat interaction, being able to relax and have a good time with viewers, and a great way to include the audience in the content you're creating.

Subnautica is honestly the best survival game experience at the time of writing this review. From the very beginning the game makes you realize that you do not matter. Whether you are on 4546B or not, the ecosystems continue to live on and prosper - and they don't take kindly to you messing up that balance.

The amount of different crafting mechanisms, the way you must discover blueprints and continue inching out of your comfort zone to progress - it's all done almost flawlessly. My biggest complaint, which I would say is a feature of the game, is that the world is so so so massive that if you miss something on your first visit to a different biome, you might find yourself backtracking for several minutes (or hours, if the immersion has you) to find that one thing to continue progressing forward.

This game is easily worth the full price, but is often on sale. I'd absolutely recommend this game to anyone who likes survival games and likes the occasional adrenaline rush of something much bigger and much more powerful than you roaring in the distance, only for it to quickly swim up and be on top of you at a moment's notice.

Please play this game - I honestly believe you will not regret it.

EDIT: Coming back nearly 4 years later to vouch again for Subnautica. The sequel (Subnautica: Below Zero) is out, and I don't believe it is nearly as good as the original, and I don't think many survival/crafting games to date have been able to match Subnautica, even if many compete now.
