I've never played a "Soulsborne" game, or anything of the sort, but that with feudal Japan got me to buy this game.
I can now say with confidence this game gets me on the edge of my seat every time I play it.

Combat is thrilling, mobility is fluid.
You die a lot, but you're back to where you were in 20 seconds max, though death has some other consequences in this game. Death is also never cheap or unfair, it's because your swordplay wasn't on par with your opponent's.

Heck the Donkey Kong boss though what the heck..
