Made by the developers behind Fallout: New Vegas, The Outer Worlds feels and plays very much like a hybrid of that game and Mass Effect 1. Both of those games that clearly inspired The Outer Worlds are great, but this game doesn't measure up to either. We should expect a game released in 2020 to be larger and...better than games released in 2007 and 2010. The action is mediocre (like Mass Effect) and we are expected to be compensated by the story, which is ok but nothing special.

The fact that I completed the entire game, including all side-quests, in under 20 hours suggests to me that this game should be full priced at $30 or $40. Its just not worth $60.

Instead I recommend Borderlands 2, Mass Effect or Fallout New Vegas.
