Made by the developers behind Fallout: New Vegas, The Outer Worlds feels and plays very much like a hybrid of that game and Mass Effect 1. Both of those games that clearly inspired The Outer Worlds are great, but this game doesn't measure up to either. We should expect a game released in 2020 to be larger and...better than games released in 2007 and 2010. The action is mediocre (like Mass Effect) and we are expected to be compensated by the story, which is ok but nothing special.

The fact that I completed the entire game, including all side-quests, in under 20 hours suggests to me that this game should be full priced at $30 or $40. Its just not worth $60.

Instead I recommend Borderlands 2, Mass Effect or Fallout New Vegas.

After the game went F2P, the amount of cheaters in Competitive is way too high to be any fun. Its a terrible design to force people to play with cheaters or punish them with cooldowns.

Yes I have a "Verified Account"/"Premium Matchmaking" whatever. It doesn't mean much apparently.

Worth getting at $20 or less? Yes.

The game itself is like the boardgame Pandemic, except from the POV of the plague.

A challenging game and reminiscent of Star Trek.

A great game over five years after release. Still play it regularly.
