The rotating minimap, along with displaying *EVERY SINGLE LAYER* at once, made me physically sick and unable to continue playing the game.

Interesting concept but a lackluster experience.

I came in expecting a more modular ship, with spots for armor/weapons/hold/crew, a-la FTL or Project Nomad. Instead, you have (as far as I have experienced) a choice of some ships designs for different stats, 1 main weapon slot, and 1 aux weapon, and the ult beam.

A very LARGE part of the game is also not centered on the ship, but on on-foot island exploration, often using the grappling hook to go to segmented parts of an island, or even larger islands forcing you back on your ship over and over again to go a few meters due to a large wall, or a puzzle segment blocking more of an island. (Also, I know its just for the sake of gameplay, but how do walls even work in a setting where you have *FLYING* ships?)

A frustrating focus on the ground combat & not enough customization of the ship drag this down from a cool little game to an un-fun experience.

Can't even get past the first hour without game-breaking levels of unplayability. Lags, fade/pop ins, bad textures, etc.

Not worth it on PC at the moment, even after turning the graphics down just to try and play it.

Massive disappointment.

I came into this game knowing it had a heavy emphasis on hypnosis/mind control/etc. themes, I did NOT expect it to have a really solid team based RPG combat system.

Came for the porn, stayed for the extremely well put together combat system.

Its a shame all the really annoying content is *after* the 2 hour mark...

Having to 'hunt' down key AND repeatable mini-bosses every time is cool the first time, but a chore after the 3ed or 4th.

Putting respawn points VERY far away from main bosses is fun and engaging gameplay, for sure!

Hoh boy, some enemy design and attack patterns are literally made to perma-stunlock/guardlock/kill the player. (Yes, I know that's what enemies in games are made to do, but when the attack and recovery window are nearly overlapping, its impossible to get out of the bad situation sometimes)

Early Access Review
The TL;DR - A decently fun game, enough game modes to keep you engaged for a few hours, and good to boot up with friends... but hindered by a painfully long "progression" system.

In full public servers it can go one of two ways; CQC free-for-all madness or 500 meter sniping competitions.

The game has been out for a long while, so people who were 'serious' about grinding have full meta loudouts, meanwhile a new player would have to grind for hours, get very good with sub-par weapons and gear, and hope you can get enough EXP to escape from the bad-by-comparison weapons and gear the game gives you.

Great mix of a cute fishing sim, with a transition into a more difficult inventory/stats (IE - Sanity/Panic/durability) game after a few hours.

Solid game play, good art style, and varied environments.

Wish there was a little less 'empty' ocean, but thats a minor gripe, as once you are at a new island you can reasonably spend 2-4 hours per zone before warping back to the main-quest giving islands.

It starts off as a decent little farming/homestead management game, a-la Stardew Valley.

Farm crops, mine rocks/metal, craft items, the works.

Eventually, you get into semi-automation, with Zombie workers filling those roles, slowly at first, leaving the Keeper to do fine tuned work.

However, around the mid point of the game is where you unlock 'quality' crafting with Bronze/Silver/Gold items... and then the manual process of making things really slows the game down.

If you wanted to make, say, a basic carrot meal, you can just put in an order to craft 100 at once and come back to it later.
However, if you wanted to make a Gold tier meal, you have to go into the menu, click on Gold, click Make Item, and you have to sit there and wait for one (1) item to be crafted... and lord knows you need way more then 1 Gold meal (or sword, or statue, or whatever else you are trying to craft)

All in all, an okay experience, but the mid-end game UI management is a slog and brings the rest of the game down with it.

Ho boy, *another* attempt at making low level D&D 5th edition 'fun'

Even getting past the tutorial island, the game doesn't open up very much, as you will be level/gatekept by encounters that you will either need to cheese, walk in with the CORRECT skills, or just have to 'come back to later'

Edit: You can choose to fully rebuild any character, including story ones, so this part does get an edit.

The game clearly favors the main story cast a lot, to the point of locking you out of thousands of experience points (read: levels) if you choose to ignore them for too long. Not to mention if you let one of them die for too long, he gives you an unavoidable game-over. VERY funny DM...

Another thing is that you characters move SO slow for how large the map is. I get wanting to give movement speed in combat, but come on, we can barley break into a light jog. Getting high strength or the Jump augmenting spells/potions/gear is the faster way to travel, even if its annoying to keep pressing the jump button over-and-over.

Game is probably more enjoyable with friends in a full co-op party, but it doesn't fix a lot of the core issues, both early game and arguably fixable but annoying gameplay mechanics.

UPDATE: Apparently, drop-in and out gameplay is not an option. If you join a friends game in session, it forces you to make a new character (even if they are in camp, and have a hireling ready for you to take over), and if you leave the session that character you make is stuck on their party till they load from a previous file... so you can join public lobbies, make a customer character, and leave, and force them to either edit the save file or load a previous save, since even the host cant delete/dismiss custom characters.
