Our Tax office, the ATO, has deemed any influencer freebies to be taxable. They have a call and dob campaign active right now.
Basically we have to pay 30 to 50% of the games cost in tax or be liable for substantial fines if we go over the minimum threshold.
So all the cheap spamware we used to get for free now costs us 50% of it's retail which isn't worth it.
Kinda dead here if we don't want to risk a big fine. Pity.
