It's a terrible co-op game, a mediocre MMO and a pretty good solo Fallout game. So set your expectations at the door.

If your goal is to have a decent co-op experience with three of your friends, this game will frustrate you more than you will enjoy playing it. You will need to pay an extra fee for you to share your quests among your group. If you do not pay the fee, you each will need to enter areas in your own instance (outside of the free roam area) and complete missions by yourself, even if you are still in a group. It is such a terrible way to handle quests that we gave up 10 hours in, barely scratching the surface of the intro quests.

If your goal is to play a Fallout game, then it will play like a laggier, buggier, slower version of Fallout 4 or Fallout 3 / New Vegas . Though, since it's technically an MMO, there's a nice feature where you can earn caps by building a base and a vending machine, and storing excess items and setting the price where other players can purchase. That is about the only time I happen to run into other players when I'm not doing solo quests, is when they visit my base looking for cheap materials or need meds in a pinch.

I have not really played into the MMO aspect much, other than joining local events where we are all teaming up to kill stuff. It's OK i guess. It does not really justify the idea of having an always connected world. The Fallout engine was just not build for multiplayer so enemies skate around clipping through objects and VATS is more real time.

I will continue playing until I have exhausted the main quest story.

The story of this game feels like they are still desperately trying to re-create a villain as good as Handsome Jack. There’s just not many memorable moments. The gunplay is just as good as past games. The ONLY reason I giving this game a thumbs up is for the DLC. Every single DLC is excellent- as good as Borderlands 2 DLC and long- there’s about 20 hours of DLC content between the four add-on campaigns. Handsome Jackpot, Guns Love and Tentacles, Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck and Bounty of Blood are all excellent, memorable and fun, with extra emphasis on the humor. The co-op of course is top notch as far as co-op games go. Recommended to play with friends.

Co-op is broken. Unable to get a group of four together. Was working in October, something broke Thanksgiving week and its doubtful Gearbox will fix it any time soon.

This scratches the itch of a beautiful, open world game taking pieces from Uncharted Franchise and mixing it with The Division and GTA and setting it inside the Star Wars Universe. The outcome from that, is missions that are primarily stealth, with an option to go guns-blazing when things go wrong- just don’t get your wanted level up too far or they will literally throw AT-AT and Ti-Fighters at you. (it’s pretty rad). There are missions to explore areas completely solo, with no enemies, that gives off a more Tomb Raider vibe. And the Division aspect comes into play, as you are doing missions for up to three different outlaw factions, trying to please each one by getting what you need.

Time at review: I have just upgraded my ship for lightspeed capability to visit new planets.

The cons: The AI, which feels stripped from the division, are not smart enough to handle the open world, and are easily cheesed and predictable. It’s a tad buggy, having fallen through the map twice and there is no quick save option- it’s primarily checkpoint based with an option to save when you are not in the middle of missions.

The pros: It’s VERY Star Warsy in environment, music and people. Almost everyone you meet has a three- or four-letter name. The combat is fun- I enjoy using your pet to help you solve areas as well as in combat and this game has one of the best hacking mini-games I’ve seen in recent years. The space flight is better than Starfield but still not as good as No Man’s Sky.

Overall- there’s enough here to enjoy and play, while getting a lot of things right that you would expect in a Star Wars but does not stick the landing entirely for a must play experience.

Tries to be goofy like the Dead Rising series but the cut-scene discussions are so boring and uninteresting this game was a chore to get through, even when playing through co-op. I was surprised there wasn’t as many bugs as the first games, Dead Island and Dead Island Riptide, which I suppose is a good thing. For whatever reason, the DLC Haus (A cult story) and SOLA (a parody of Coachella maybe) were much more fun and interesting than anything in the main story. The main story feels hamstrung, and confined. It takes a while for the maps to open up to truly feel like an “open world” game. Its in the DLC where you get two weapons and new enemies that change your gameplay dramatically. Overall, feels like this franchise cannot find it’s place in the oversaturation of zombie games, even with the unique procedural FLESH system.

A nice surprise to drop this remaster for free to those who already own the game. Unlike that other company who still thinks doing a 35 year-old remaster is worth $30. Just a spectacular revamp of the original games, plus the added benefit of Legacy of Rust with new enemies, maps, weapons. It was a blast to revisit and has all the added luxuries with modern gaming. Native ultrawide and 1080p support, upgraded visuals, 60 FPS and all the mods you could want. Thanks to Nightdive Studios for all their efforts bringing these classic games back to life. That includes Quake and Quake II.

Wasn’t for me; I’m not a stranger to turn based games but I am definitely new to the Dungeons and Dragons lore. Fantasy games seem to be hit or miss with me- but I could not find a single thing to latch onto that kept me excited to play this. By Act II I was looking at my watch- how many more distractions will keep me from playing the main story and finishing this? This felt different from other side quest games… the Witcher, GTA, Starfield… the map, the camera angles, the movement all felt like a chore to deal with.

There were also surprisingly a lot of bugs playing 4 player co-op. Multiple times people had to restart their games to get the game to work properly. Sometimes joining a game you couldn’t move. Sometimes joining a game everyone would be in T-pose. Sometimes joining a game the view would just be from under the map. Some quests were broken. Sometimes quests were completed but the game did not recognize they were completed, hindering the timeline of the playthrough.

Not a lot of fun. Except when gnomes get launched off of windmills. I do appreciate the freedom to what almost everything I want.

Third time playing through this. Beat it once on PS3 and once on steam 12 years ago, and recently started playing around with mods; specifically setting my cars to speed 99999 as outlined in this video that convinced me to redownload it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gEbLqNUNQ2c

When I accidently got the achievement "Do 5 car rolls in a row from one crash." I now needed 100% it.

This game has not aged well. This game got the unfortunate luck of being released during the brownest brown-era of gaming ever. Every game released around this timeframe was brown. You can include games like Far Cry 2, Fallout 3, Resident Evil 4, Shadow of Colossus or Gears of War to that list. It’s just a gross looking clunky controlled game. Driving anything is a chore. Getting out and walking is a chore. Sandbox games should be fun to traverse the landscape and this game is the opposite. During this playthrough I took taxi rides everywhere to avoid the terrible map; especially when needed to get between islands. Combat is not great either. Aiming weapons and trying hit enemies inside buildings is not easy, even when using the cover mechanic. Niko is not practically likable, even though we are rooting for him in the end. Now that I’m writing this, I can’t really think of one positive thing to say about it, other than I’m happy to be done with the main story.

Excellent addition to the Night City story and a wonderful way to tie in the events of the main game with the DLC. CD PROJEKT RED are phenomenal storytellers. The epilogues to all the endings create a deep connection with the players. Strip away the shooting, the chrome, the driving and it still might be my favorite story arc in all of gaming. As you progress, and V's relationship with Reed, Judy, Panam, Song, Alex and Viktor, grows the payoff is masterful. It's a must play and for anyone on the fence, you will not be disappointed.

This is another case of a game not deserving of it’s “mixed” or “mostly negative” reviews. Full disclosure: Like Ghost Recon and Division 2, I double-dipped here to re-buy Diablo 4 on steam. But you have to hand it to blizzard. It’s a developer that has been there- done that in terms of what a pseudo-live game has to offer. In other words, it had a plan from the start on keeping players engaged after you finish the main story (unlike a lot of other AAA games that lean on DLC or battle passes to keep games alive). The seasons are an excellent way to allow players to start new characters, and not get dragged down by the repetition of the main story. (you can skip it if you want!)

No, it’s not Diablo III – so stop complaining about it. There’s no abundance of fetch quests. The open world aspect is a welcomed change to the dated dungeon crawler. I like being able to see other players in the PVP areas or just hanging out in town. The world feels more alive (or dead if you like) and heading to world events where a group is ready to take on a world boss is fun. It’s nice to be able to go where you want and do what you want. And if you want to group up with friends, the co-op aspect is excellent. This is all compounded by the enormous paragon board and diverse skill tree keeps you motived to continue playing. In short, there’s a ton to do and many different ways to do it.

It's blizzard, so the cinematics voice acting, destructible environments are gorgeous. The only real controversy, is whether you can get over your morale compass to support Blizzard/Activision after the workplace misconduct allegations. I bought it for the devs. With Bobby Kotick gone, Blizzard is in good hands with Microsoft.
