its not dated with some weapons/gameplay mods, there is a lot (in fact, thousands) of custom levels, and you can play multiplayer through zandronum. Basically, with mods it has a great replayability: e.g. you can play some levels with Brutal Doom, then with D4D mod for completely different experience. Without mods, your statement is solid; gameplay sometimes can be tedious, and even i like only original ultimate doom levels, while doom 2 and evilution levels are sucks, in my opinion.

What makes you keep coming back for this game? It"s old, dated, and doesn"t have multiplayer like other games.
