Edge of Eternity is an underrated turn-based JRPG with gorgeous environments, enjoyable battle system, on point voice acting, intriguing story and MMO-style crafting system. Combat takes place on honeycomb-style grids with ancient artifacts on spaces that passively boost stats or deliver devastating attacks that damage multiple spaces. The battles are turn-based and actions have a casting time before they can be used. Character abilities and stat enhancements are tied to their weapons by attaching crystals to them. Each weapon has its own crystal grid which unlocks as the weapon levels up similar to the Sphere Grid system from Final Fantasy X. New weapons, potions and armor can be crafted by gathering items from the environments or from monster drops. The story starts off slow with only two playable characters for the first few hours but other characters eventually join. The dialogue and interaction between the characters are often humorous which makes the story more enjoyable. Puzzles utilizing the same honeycomb-style grid mechanic are used at some locations to change up the gameplay. There are many side quest, optional puzzles that are challenging and collectibles scattered throughout the world which greatly extends the play time. Similarly to the Chocobo in final fantasy, you can ride an adorable cat creature (nekaroo) at any time by pressing "T" on the keyboard. For most of the game I did not know this as there were no clear indication (unless it was mention during the tutorial). It is obvious this game is inspired by the best entries in the Final Fantasy series and other popular JRPG. This is my favorite indie JRPG that I have played thus far and impressed that only a 9 person team built such a beautiful world. If only there was a photo-mode to compliment the stunning vistas. [9/10]

I 100% agree when you say it's underrated. It's made by a very small group of indie devs and wasn't expecting AAA quality knowing this. The game's artwork and naming did look like a FF title which which did catch my interest the more i looked into it. Sure it's a bit janky in looks in a lot of areas but the improvements it got up to this point has made it better. I understand it's made with Unity which i find impressive and explains the jank the game has to it. The game still needs more polishing. The battle cam definitely needs more work on it. Voice acting is pretty decent. I won't add too much here but i plan to make a review of the game once i play through it all. Good review. :BL3Thumbsup:
