You can either put your ass to work and train to be the best duelist in the server or be like me and just throw rocks at people.

Mordhau is a difficult and brutal game and that's why you'll die a lot and by a lot I mean, prepare to go 3-15 for your first 100 hours. The skill floor is quite hard compared to other online games so be aware of that. Once you get yourself accustomed to the mechanics and you've built a decent muscle memory you can do some badass things on the battlefield (nothing feels better than doing a Matrix-like move when you are defending against 3 opponents).

There are multiple game modes you can try, ranging from full-scale battles (48-80 players, Invasion/Frontline) where you have to complete some sort of objective (escorting a king, raiding a castle, etc.) to simple 1v1/3v3 ranked duels. Mordhau is a medieval nerd's dream, offering lots of customization in terms of armory (one of my favorite aspects of the game is to create cool-looking characters for example) and weaponry, but also unique and cool looking battlefields (castles & fortresses, war camps, open fields, arenas and many more).

The community has a bad rep on the net because as with any online multiplayer game out there, it's bound to have some edgy users. Sometimes you can see these guys typing questionable stuff in the chat giving you the illusion that they are the majority, which is totally untrue. Think about it: in a 80 people server, there are 5 guys typing derogatory terms, while the rest of the 75 are just swinging their swords around or whatever... 90% of the time the chat is really chill and I always like to crack jokes to make people laugh.

One common complaint from the userbase is the slow pace of new game updates. The Mordhau team is relatively small and the most requested feature (new maps) takes a long time to be added, so be prepared for a few months of downtime between major content updates. Although I wish they re-used the existing maps and just mix-up the objectives for more variety. Hopefully, that'll be fixed with the upcoming release of Modding Tools.

Another complaint could be how slow you earn the gold to unlock new armors (these are just cosmetics, you can do fine just with the cheap items). On average, you earn 1k coins per hour, so if you are a completionist, good luck grinding those multiple 20k items. The game would greatly benefit from some sort of quest/daily mission system that many other products out there have. Not only will it help with earning gold faster, but it'll also spice up the gameplay by adding more variety.

In conclusion, Mordhau is a fantastic game for what it wants to offer, but since it's a niche game, with a really dedicated player base, be prepared to be decimated in your first hundred hours (even at 300hrs clocked, I'm way below the average).

8/10, get it on a sale, and F you if you use the Messer!

Early Access Review
Valheim feels like discovering Minecraft for the first time. Really addictive gameplay with a great designed building system. Highly recommend to play it with a bunch of friends.

If this game is that good and complete (triple AAA companies should take notes) in Early Access, I can't wait to see what it'll have in store in the future.

Fantastic experience with a super addictive gameplay loop. You and your crew can take part in epic storylines, dig up for treasures, fight in the many PvE events available, raid other pirates for their treasure, or just do weird shenanigans like hiding on someone's boat to mess up with them.

While in most games traveling from point A to point B is boring and tedious, Sea of Thieves excels at this aspect. The game is good at this by throwing at you different encounters like Megalodons, Krakens, or simply just a storm. In many instances, I and my crew had our ship full of treasure after looting a vault only to be spotted by another player ship thirsty for our gold. Having this PvP element blends well with all the PvE activities by creating a risk, which makes your treasure hunt even more rewarding at the end.

The sailing mechanics are well designed and having a well-coordinated crew is essential, especially in boat vs boat battles. While the sword combat is pretty lackluster, the guns are really fun to use but even better than that is the naval combat - nothing feels better than using the harpoon to move your ship in a position perfect to blast your enemies with your cannons!

One super important aspect of the game is that everyone is on equal foot. There are no P2W elements at all and the progression system consists of unlocking cool cosmetics for your pirate or ship and unlocking new missions and quests.

All in all, Sea of Thieves is an amazing game that can offer fun and engaging experiences to all types of gamers, from casuals to hardcore players. 10/10

You can play as Rayman vs a half-bear Viking and Hellboy, while teaming up with Finn from Adventure Time.

Abandoned and unplayable outside of community servers. Valve keeps adding mtx when the servers are full of cheat bots. What a shame...
