One of the best games I have ever played. Since I haven't played the original Silent Hill 2 that came out in 2001, I can't really say much about what stuff changed in terms of the original and the remake, but I enjoyed every single aspect of this game. It's easy to see why Silent Hill 2 is regarded as not only one of the best horror games of all time, but also video games of all time. From music to art direction, sound design, voice acting, graphics, and most importantly, the story—it's surreal just how good it is.

Easily my game of the year, and for anyone else who haven't played the original Silent Hill 2 game, this is definitely worth it.

...

Also Bloober Team—please remake Silent Hill 1, Silent Hill 3, and Silent Hill 4 now. I want to play them.

PAYDAY 3 Needed More Time in the Oven

Firstly, this is not a sequel to PAYDAY 2. It's a sequel to PAYDAY: The Heist. If you approach this game expecting a successor to the fast-paced combat and movement found in the second game, you'll be disappointed.

Payday 3 aims to be more grounded than its predecessor. This means slower movement, increased resistance, etc. While the gameplay is good, it doesn't feel like what I anticipate from a PAYDAY game. The new skills are intriguing. The special enemies are once again terrifying, with bulldozers evoking the same fear as in the first game. The graphics are also superior in every aspect compared to PAYDAY 2, though that game is now a decade old. The switch from the Diesel Engine to Unreal Engine 4 has been largely beneficial, resolving most performance issues present in PAYDAY 2. The Diesel Engine remains one of the least optimized game engines out there. Furthermore, stealth mechanics have greatly improved. AI enhancements are noticeable, especially with enemy and civilian behaviors, which were frustrating in PAYDAY 2.

Now, let's discuss the negatives:

The User Interface (UI) has degraded significantly. The current UI is clunky and looks more appropriate for a mobile game than a PC game. Customizing weapons, as in PAYDAY 2, has become more challenging, mainly due to a poorly-designed visual HUD that displays bars instead of numbers. This interface was removed from PAYDAY 2 for the same criticisms. Other downsides include the difficulty in seeing a bag's value when secured and a less-iconic assault wave indicator.

The music lacks the depth and variety of Simon Viklund's compositions. While it's challenging to rival Simon's OSTs, the current tracks are underwhelming. The main menu theme quickly becomes grating, as do themes for other missions.

The game servers are among the worst I've encountered. Mandatory server connections, even for solo play, paired with long wait times, are exasperating. Matchmaking is riddled with issues, and detailing all the problems would necessitate a dedicated video.

The lobby experience is now lackluster. Players can no longer customize their builds from the lobby, only switch between preset loadouts. Moreover, removing players from the team is no longer an option.

The sliding mechanic is more of a hindrance than a benefit. Its implementation can compromise stealth strategies, sometimes leading to unintentional outcomes.

CRIME.net's removal is felt deeply. The new heist selection method is uninspiring. For some reason, heists no longer have a stealth icon, which baffles me.

PAYDAY 3 has done away with numerous favorable features, leading one to question their omission. Features like CRIME.net, offline play, customizable music for specific heists, and the previously richer pre-planning system are sorely missed, not to mention the re-introduction of poor UI choices that were initially discarded in PAYDAY 2.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Fantastic
Although the game never holds your hand in guiding you throughout it, the way objectives and items are located and set up is done in such a good way that it simply just works. The combat was thrilling and fun, the atmosphere is immersive and absolutely terrifying at times. For the first 1-2 hours of my playthrough, I remember being scared ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ just running into a group of enemies.
The puzzles are well done, although some of them weren't clear at first on what you were supposed to do. When you do figure them out, they are solid and fun to solve.
Originally, some years ago, I tried to play through the original version released back in 1994, but I never really managed to play it much due to it simply being "too old" for me, sadly. However, the remake is definitely on point. The graphics are top-notch and mix realism with a retro pixel art style. The animations are on point, and you can easily tell a lot of love was poured into this entire game.
But man... the OST was absolutely fantastic. There were times where I was running around the Citadel Station confused for minutes at a time, but the music in the background made me almost want to spend more time just standing and listening.

The only complaints I have with the game are quite nitpicky. However, if I had to list them, I would say that the boss fights are kind of underwhelming, but still very well done in terms of what the game is going for. Even though I knew that the last boss fight would be "the last boss" in the game, the way it ended kind of just left me saying "Oh... Wait what?" Perhaps it's because I didn't understand the ending, but the way the game concluded was still really solid.
Inventory management was sometimes absolutely annoying. This is mainly because I like to hoard absolutely everything in games like these, but at times I thought it was kind of annoying. I want to remind you that this is just my personal issue with the game. I know a lot of people like inventory management, I just don't.
But definitely, without a doubt, the biggest complaint was the hacking mini-games. Even though they were extremely fun and engaging at first, when playing them for the fifth time, I remember audibly groaning when I found one I had to play and finish. They are essential for the advancement of the story, which is pretty annoying. By the halfway point of the game, I found them to be just a bother to complete and really repetitive. This is due to the gameplay of the mini-games never really changing. The only thing that changes is new enemies showing up, but even then, they aren't that distinct from other enemies.
In terms of replayability... It's definitely going to be some years at least, personally, for me to replay the entire thing again. Although next time I decide to play through the game, it will be much faster as I know where to go off the bat. The game is still long. The time it took for me to complete System Shock along with most objectives was 22 hours, which is definitely not something I am complaining about as I got plenty of game time for the price I paid.

In general, if you enjoy games that can be brutally hard at times and reward you with satisfaction upon completing challenging sequences and challenges, System Shock is definitely for you. If you aren't the biggest fan of games actively hating you and literally playing against you at times, then I wouldn't recommend the game.

Early Access Review
Meh. I could only play it for 1 hour before getting bored. The gameplay felt bland, and the movement itself was sluggish. Perhaps it gets faster later on, I don't know. The only thing I know is that I would much rather play Quake than this. Also, something I noticed was the lack of music in general. Almost all the fights really missed that background music that adds energy.

The thing is, I have actually been following this game for a long time. I started following it when it originally came out. However, reading the other reviews also makes me glad that I didn't keep playing, as it seems the developers have no plans to finish the game.

Gameplay is perfect. Everything else sucks.
With that said Darktide is an extremely entertaining game that has some of the best melee combat i've experienced in a first-person-shooter. However the shop system is absolutely flawed. It's extremely frustrating to check in hourly, just to see if you can get a new weapon or not. It legit took me 3 days in order to get a new unlocked hammer for my preacher character... just because I never got lucky with the RNG.
The game is also lacking many promised features that Fatshark had promised before launch. It's now been 1 month since the game launched and Fatshark has added nothing, besides two underwhelming weapons. They keep delaying any news/updates, week after week.

However... I will still continue to play the game, as the gameplay is addicting and fun. But the review will stay as negative until the developers fixes the numerous amount of bugs, performance problems and the crafting system... which should of been in the game since launch.

It's chill and relaxing. You also get to witness the horrors of being horribly bankrupt and being charged for first-degree murder.
