A bit disappointed on this, I enjoyed the demo of it before it came out and so I was keeping an eye on the game. I did feel the demo was a bit too easy, but I figured "it's just introducing me to the mechanics, once we get into the bulk off the game it will get much more challenging and it'll be cool!"

Unfortunately for me, it does not get more challenging. The game just doesn't have enough content (took me 2 hours to beat) for it to build into a challenging puzzle like Obra dinn which the game itself compares itself too. It did mention it was a short 2 hour game, and the price is low enough that it's fine at that, but for this type of game, I feel like it held back on complexity of the puzzle that it just didn't do much for me.

Big part of the problem was the deductions were all just point and click on characters and it gives you a random word to use to plug into a puzzle. You also pull random words out of conversations, no choice it just gives them to you, to also plug into drop down puzzles. This makes the observations non-existant (though there is some thought behind how to get to the answers for the puzzles but sometimes you can just pick something at random since the word list and character list is too short that guess and check can just work.)

On the positive notes - the art, music, voice acting and writing was all great. Very silly/cartoony and fun, which was enjoyable. So if you like easy laid back games you can get enjoyment out of it. If you're looking for a challenging puzzle though, this is not it.

I have to admit, I just can't get into Dark Souls. The 3d Combat just feels clunky to me, I'm a mouse and keyboard guy for most games, and controller for platformers. But 3D combat on a controller just feels weird. I beat the entire game, but it was like pulling teeth for me.

But I appreciate and respect the hell out of the game. It popularized difficulty in video games, and showed the world that people want challenges in their games. Also, the level design was pretty neat, and not enough games design their levels good enough. Ah well, I really wish I could have enjoyed this.

It's 2D Dark Souls. Not bad.

This game is full of meat.

Nice little indie game. Fun combat, boring story. Cut out 90% of the dialogue please, wow I can't believe how much writing there was in this I just started skipping most of it unfortunately, just too much. I think there was a decent story there, just was done.

The best game of the fallout series. First is the best in Fallout.

Pretty good ARPG. Fun co-op play, but it's no Path of Exile.

Turns out my lack of knowledge in music, dance and rhythm makes me bad at shooting to the rhythm. In doing so, I can't keep up a good combo and hear the full song, which is sad. I wish I could just listen to the metal and shoot, that's a me thing.

I think the problem with the game is it's just arena after arena of enemies swarming you. No real level design, no real interesting story, or anything to explore. Just rhythmic shooting and metal. I didn't love the music either, tbh as much as I love metal nothing really stood out, but it was still fun to listen to.

Each game in the "We were Here" franchise gets longer, better, more fun (and more expensive). Start from "We were here", which is free, and work your way through 4 games to get here, and you won't regret it. Co-op play, get one friend and work through puzzles together. It's kinda escape room-y puzzles, a lot of fun and well designed. I hope they are working on a 5th title. I'll keep playing these as long as they make them at this point.
