I just got this game yesterday and I AM HOOKED!! So far the tasks and progression are very nicely fleshed out and the activities and cuteness keep you playing!

So far, yes it seems like an interesting and relaxing game. But as someone else pointed out, you are definitely dead-locked into following the path they choose for you. Got a new note? Well you're not allowed to go explore based on that note, even though your compass is lit up that you can go. You must do tasks that the Devs have chosen, in their order. Really needs to be more freedom of choice in this game.

WARNING! This game will suck you in! You won't be able to stop building, designing, floating along and hoarding more!
If you're a creative gamer where crafting and building are concerned, then you will be "hooked" on this game! Two chapters of a story to "sail" through, building your raft up and exploring each new destination! Even on peaceful mode (no animal danger, but still eat/drink), there's lots to do and lots to see! I've completed the game but I still have many more achievements to obtain!

I love the whole character play aspect, with eat/drink/fight survival coupled with build your best bot/machine/car/whatever the heck you want! There are some bugs that aren't exactly game breaking but are still a nuisance.

-Blocks you place then pick back up seem to disappear. (case in point, I placed 256 blocks to gauge a distance, picked them all back up to find I had only 212 in my bags. )
-Logging back into the game, sometimes all of my creations are flipped upside down. Not game breaking but strange still.

As you can see by my hours, I'm not only addicted already but I haven't advanced very far yet so I don't have any other bugs to share at this time.

I started playing this game in the beginning. It was SUPER buggy and seriously memory draining with the tethers. There have been a LOT of fixes and a LOT of changes. I really like the direction the game is going and I'm loving discovering everything as I go!
UPDATE: The new quest system is fantastic! It really gives the player instruction and a direction to go instead of leaving them to wonder if they need to stay or what else they need to advance. I've been playing solo, which is unusual for me in games like this because I always play MP, but the experience has been fantastic.

If you like a game that's relaxing while still being semi-survival with crafting and plenty of advancement, then this game is worth a try!!

I like games that entertain me and have good replay value. I still find myself coming back to this game and playing for several hours at a time. You micro-manage some, but can micro-manage more if you want, as you build a metropolis and occupy more islands. You can go solo with the AI, no pirates. Or play with pirates attacking at times. You can also play with friends.

Updated:

Build a base, watch it be destroyed by the Horde. Build a better base, watch it be destroyed. Watch YouTube and see how others are building bases. Try to build theirs OR try to make something better.

Numerous zombies to kill, with some toughies such as the Demolition Zombie. Loot, kill, survive.
There are dozens and dozens of mods for this game, and many different ways to play other than the typical build a base and survive horde night.

While I'll likely continue to play, I feel some of the developers could stand to be more professional and polite when dealing with the players in the Steam Forums. It's a little out of their "role" to play Moderator when they really should just be there to answer questions, read input and help with technical issues.

This game is so addicting that I literally lose track of time and end up playing for hours and hours.
The difficulty level is great. The mutants are so satisfyingly creepy- especially the screamers! The sights and sounds of the forest are amazingly realistic. I found it much more satisfying than Skyrim- and that's my favorite game! It's actually hard to NOT get immersed. Everything combined just pulls you into the game.

300 hours more and I still love this game. It has fantastic replay value and you don't have to play the same way every time you start a new save! You can try to have a truce with most cannibals (not possible with mutants!), you can find really good spots to have almost no cannibal traffic or build a fort in the highest cannibal traffic area for optimum fun, OR try to stay away from the Island as much as possible by living on a house boat!

I know there's a "Part 2" in the works, but I'll make my suggestions anyway:
-More ways to discover cloth (maybe cotton plants?)
-Character customization. As a girl gamer, I'd like to enter the game as a female.. not a black guy or mexican guy... or weird white guy with glasses.. lol
-More possibilities for boats and/or putting things on the House Boat
-More dangerous animals (bears? wild dogs?)

If you just bought this game, hit me up on Steam and we'll start a new save together and I'll show you the ropes!
