Once upon a time I was a fairly competitive dance game player. Since then, my body has deteriorated and my free time has been swallowed by adult obligations. I don't actually play games very much anymore. When I do, it is generally because I feel that the format is being used well. I enjoy games which create a broad and immersive world because this is something that games can do more viscerally and compellingly than other media. On occasion I enjoy games for their story. It is uncommon, though not impossible, for me to enjoy a game for its gameplay. I am able to appreciate an ambitious failure (though I will still openly call it a failure) more than something perfect and unambitious as well, so despite (or perhaps because of) my critical nature I'm often attracted to games which have more pretension than merit.

By all means still invite me to matches if you want to, but understand that this isn't where I fit naturally in the order of things :3
