Mission 1: "get a can of water." yeah ok easy enough
Mission 2: "grab another can of water." yeah i got this
Mission 3: "go take down flying autocannon sentries until they drop you a specific loot piece and get 3 of those pieces. Hope you are ready to run headfirst into entire platoons of enemies because the wreck will despawn after like 2 minutes." huuuuh my brother in christ, even the most basic of unarmored grunt doesn't die with half a mag of AK in the head what the ♥♥♥♥ are you talking about?!
Damn shame because artistically the game is gorgeous and has one hell of a vibe.

If you are looking for THE spiritual successor to freelancer then stop browsing, this is it, you won't get anything closer to this.
The game is a bit crusty and rough on the edge but if you manage to get past that then you're in for a treat.

Prety good game. The soundtrack is banger and you realy get that old wipeout 3 vibe. Couple of things bother me tho. First is the lack of any real progression. I'm yearning for that wipeout fusion progression vibe that got me bolted to my ps2 for month back in thos days. Secondly would be the difficulty which is not easy at start (excluding time trials which i'll talk more later) to extremely hard starting at the third cup when you get your first increase in speed rank. I basically gave up at that point. Time trials have maxed up difficulty even in the very first cup and you simply cannot win them without pixel perfect trajectories.
Overall for the price of the game and the quality you get i can recommend however do keep in mind that there is no mod for casual players like me who no longer have the reflexes i had 20 years aggo and who no longer have all the time in the world to do and redo each race over and over until you master them to perfection.

Good concept yet so many flaws.
The graphics are very dated like mount and blade warband kind of dated, the controles are very dated too and unresponsive which is kind of a shame for a game that try so hard to be darksoul when it comes to combat, music is very repetitiv, the little voice acting there is in the game is god awful down to even the quality of the recording hardware they used where you hear the crust from the poor quality mic, sound design is ...weird, some odd choice were made there, and then you have the progression.
The progression is based on stuff and abilities that you have to get from very specific npcs which ultimately funels you on what feels like a scripted path. Like sure you can go wherever you want however you'll get obliterated by enemies if you go to most part of the map so you have to find where you don't get one shoted, get what you can from that place and proceed to try and error your way to the next place where you can actualy survive an encounter with an enemy.
Stuff based progression can work, exibit A: borderland however it work when you have plenty of varied loot and place to get loot to constently progress. In outward the choice is very limited when it comes to weapons and armor and for the 20 hours i spent in that game i've basically only see the same basic iron weapon trash everywhere. I did find 1 rather nice long sword in a bandit camp but what drove the final nail in outward's coffin for me was how i got all my stuff stolen by some slavers and basically sent back to square one. Imagine borderland where you get to a prety hard dungeon, you die and the games tells you "well if you want to get your stuff back you have to do that hard dungeon you died in but naked and armed with a butter knife have fun! Oh and btw the game was saved so no loading back allowed." So basically you go back to the start of the game and re stuff from scratch. Oh and of course if you die again enjoy grinding for gear again!
So yeah go back to wintcher 3. It's better looking, better sounding, the gameplay is better, the progression system is better, everything is voice acted with movie quality voice acting, soundtrack is legendary, you could fill a book with the lore behind it... oh wait the games are actualy based on a series of books. Oh and it's 10$ cheaper.

Long story short, this game should be 15$ to 20$ at most for the kind of jankiness you get when you buy it.

You want some bloody and dumb fun? You want instant action and and gritty speed shooting? Well boi o boi are you in for a disapointment.
Matchmaking take ages to eventualy put you in a 1 v 3 match where the oposit team is made of esport wanabe or possibly cheaters i mean who know i wasn't able to tell the diference.
And that's prety much it because aside from that there's isn't much else to say aside that maybe you'll get a lootbox containing a bright pink skin for blaskowitz...
You'll find me back on ut2004 where fun can actualy be obtained.

What could have been a real nice and fun game as turned into a game that is realy painfull to like.
Overall the story/graphics/sound design and all of that is prety nice but the game is barely playable.
Crashes "could not write crash dump" every 5 minutes, random death freezes, frames hiting the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in some place for no apparent reasons... I mean for a bethesda game if only the bugs were funny like on skyrim i could gloss over them but those crash/freeses made the game unplayable and for a AAA game this is unacceptable.

The game is really nice, it plays well, feel great and sound great. However the dificulty of the game is extremely weird. Some race are extremely easy and all of a sudent the dificulty turn insane. Once you reach the jungle level the game become near impossible and if like me you're not an extreme tryhard ready to redo the same race over and over and over for hours until you master that particular track with pixel perfect trajectory then the game end here for you. It's sad really.
