I just got my first flying mount after starting on this server, with a saddle kindly made by Beerfreak. I was flying along the peninsula towards the lighthouse site when I saw the beast through my spyglass, dispatching a turtle. I landed my mount at a safe spot, and started shooting tranquilizers when the sarco was still distracted by the turtle, while also calling for help.
After it has defeated the turtle, the sarco came after me and got promptly entangled in the undergrowth in its rage. so I was able to sedate it without trouble.

It was near sunset then, Caboose and Beerfreak both arrived and we flew deep into the woods to hunt prime meat for bribing the king of the bay. I even had to steal the kill and life from a rex - who just suffered grave injuries in taking down that bronto. And my torch went out near dawn, in a moonless stormy night. Luckily I was able to find my way back to the Rock and rest.

Due to the endless stream of prime meat with all our effort, the magnificient beast was tamed with good efficiency, at 175 levels after tame, surpassing my parasaur as the highest leveled animal we have -
The record was broken the same day by my second pteranodon, tamed at 120 with easily available dodo kibbles, to level 179 after taming.
Tower Guard first saw one east of the bay near the Rock and I came in on my pteranodon, hoping to get a sight of this amazing beast. Soon we found it above the forest covering the east shore. It was a regal animal, pitch black only with white markings around the eyes.
Remedie was still too inexperienced flying and Rich was busy taming a bronto. We decided to give chase nevertheless.
I left my mount on the Rock and took flight on Tower's argent, lifting him in the bird's grip so that his hands were free to fire his crossbow. No less than twenty tranquilizing bolts later it was still going strong. It flied frantically trying to escape, and we couldn't even steer it towards our base by attacking it head-on, so we followed it further and further inland.
However mighty the bird was, it couldn't keep up with the quetzal with two people in tow. We rested several times, almost losing sight of the target each time. Even the weather was against us. A thick fog fell at dusk, which soon gave way to a moonless rainy night. The black quetzal blended into the night, and we had to call off the search head back.
We flew along the river teeming with spinosaurs, resting at our outpost under construction on top of a rock outcrop, and finally returned to the bay. Looks like it'll take us much more effort to conquest this soaring giant.
