Indie Games for Good Marathon!

We just couldn’t stay away! A lot of you noticed IGG season (Oct/Nov) came and went without a marathon – first off, sorry about that! Life complicates things, and some new challenges made our normal event infeasible this year. We wanted to do at least a little something for all you wonderful people, though, which is why I’m happy to announce that this weekend (December 10th and 11th; stream starts at 10AM Pacific on Saturday) we’re gonna do something a little different: Indie Games for Good Mini[iggmarathon.com]!

As many of you know, IGG’s a heckuva production; lots of moving parts, months of dedicated prep from dozens of people, and a ton of involvement from awesome devs. IGG Mini aims to be a little simpler – The same wacky crew, the same rad games (and lots of great new ones), but a more compact format. What this means is that we won’t have all the interviews and crazy amounts of physical prizes, and our classic “keep going until donations stop” structure won’t be in place; that’ll all make its return next year with a proper event.

We’re taking donations now, and when you donate you can recommend a game for us to play on the livestream this weekend. Donations go to Child’s Play Charity, GiveDirectly, and the Southern Poverty Law Center directly through PayPal; as always, we don’t touch a cent, and you can choose how to distribute your money. We have $11,500 worth of pledged matching funds, meaning that the first $11,500 donated will result in double the impact for the organizations. Reminder: all three are 501©3 organizations, so your contributions are tax-deductible!

We’re really excited to bring you guys another stream this year, and are hoping to make a fun and slightly more relaxed show as we head into the insanity that is the Holiday Season.
