Training For Victory!

About us

Training for Victory is a group dedicated towards providing tools and utilities towards improving players' skill in TF2.

Currently we offer multiple custom servers featuring changes and improvements with the goal of removing obstacles between the player and their training.

Planned server features

Weapons tryout system - A system allowing you to hop on a TFV server and test any weapon you don't own.
Airblast training - A new map featuring multiple ways to improve airblasting.
Stats system - A custom system for tracking your stats and training progress.

Current server features (PVP)

Reworked tr_walkway map logic, fixed the SentryRoom interfering with the walkway, fixed map bugs, minor optimizations, some boss logic, and more!

October Server Changes

I forgot to list these changes at the beginning of October:

Server Logo added to the map! If you have custom downloads enabled, it will appear at the end of the walkway!
Halloween mode was enabled *
Halloween Spells are enabled **
Halloween explosive pumpkins were added *
Halloween Spooky Eyes are hidden in the map *
Added purgatory
MVM Tanks are now properly working on the walkway. (Admin Event)
Monoculous teleporting is fixed again

Changes made during October:

GoombaStomp was removed
Fixed class buttons not changing the walkway bots' class
Players can no longer "explode" other players
Fixed players not being able to "kill" themselves
Players can no longer use "give" to spawn entities
Added !taunt and !tp to the !commands list
Disabled impulse 101 due to abuse
Fixed issue with player movement and using cheat impulses.
!urber 2 and !crits 2 are disabled. These were originally suppose to be admin only.
Removed some RedTeam filters from the map to allow BlueTeam access to teleporters and resupply cabinets.
Increased NextBot update frequency for smoother boss animations. Thanks Glubbable! (Only noticeable if you've changed your interp)
Changed up sv_tags a bit

* Halloween changes will be disabled when the Scream Fortress event ends.
** Halloween Spells replaces grapplehooks; it's possible to equip grapplehooks to use them.

Server changes and upgraded hardware for NY servers

A couple days ago I released many changes to the map and server. All changes are server-sided and does not require you to download a new version of the map. Here are the changes:

!crits and !urber are no longer removed when healed.
Bot disconnect and join team messages no longer appear in chat.
Added a func_nobuild to bluespawn to prevent engineers from kidnapping bots.
Speed up the claw to the sentry room.
Merasmus no longer spawns or hides in the sentry room.
Sentry room now has it's own dedicated resupply that can be toggled by the button by the stairs.
Added infinite Red and Blue dispensers
Minor change to the Pyro Overlord message
Added cooldown to Pyro Overlord
Reworked map logic around bot spawning/class change.
Bots no longer spam chat when changing classes.
Bots are no longer kicked when changing classes.
Since players love playing on blue, the walkway walls are off by default now.
Fixed the flamethrower model to the Pyro button
Added particles to teleporters that were missing them.
Attempted to fix the hill, we will see if it breaks again.
Added some map logic for mvm_tanks (Admin event)
Added commands to view the steamgroup: !steam !group !steamgroup
Reenabled weapon dropping again.
Bots no longer drop weapons.
Stock weapons are no longer dropped(Strange variants are dropped).
Toggling random crits or gravity no longer shows the convar change message in chat.
