Little Nightmares II offers much more lore and story compared to the first game, which is great!
As someone who fell in love with the concept since the prequel, I appreciated this deeper dive into the game's world.

✧ Art Style and Design ✧
The game maintains its beautiful artistic vision, with phenomenal character and environment designs. Every scene is sooooo well crafted, capturing that unique blend of creepy and captivating that made the first game so memorable.

✧ Gameplay Experience ✧
However, my experience with the sequel wasn't as enjoyable. I died a LOT, which made it hard to stay immersed in the game. Frequently getting stuck on objects or the game not recognizing my inputs, especially during crucial moments like chase scenes, was incredibly frustrating. It's not my controller's fault; I've never had issues with other games.

✧ Difficulty ✧
The game is definitely harder than the first, with more lethal one-hit enemies. All the dying diminished my enjoyment, especially towards the end when I was too drained to care. The hospital level, with its awful flashlight controls and mannequin enemies, was the most frustrating part. The boss fight and the pink doors segment were also tedious.

✧ Conclusion ✧
Little Nightmares II has a beautiful artistic vision, but the gameplay ruined it for me. There was too much chasing and dying, making the game more frustrating than fun. While the story and design were top-notch, the numerous gameplay issues overshadowed these positives. I had to force myself to finish it after rage-quitting at the hospital level. All in all, it's a visually stunning game with a compelling story, but the gameplay left me feeling dead inside.
