Why cant i get any of my games to save? Whether i save and return to world map, or save and return to main menu, all 3 save slots always remain empty like im starting a new game. Any ideas?

Hi everyone! Veteran mode is available as an update! You guys just have to update the game and you`ll see v110 in the launcher. Just start a new game and veteran option will be available. I'm trying to beat the boss of the 4th or 5th level (three-faced ball) and I can't do it. I manage to dodge most of the attacks but I do so little damage with my weapon that the fight drags on and so I end up losing my life. I searched all the previous levels for weapon and armor upgrades but I found NOTHING. all I find is extra slots for throwing weapons and I'm tired of finding only that.
