Issue Support: No Audio
Hey everyone,

We are working to try and fix the audio issues reported by some players and have some troubleshooting steps that we would like to try. If you are a user experiencing audio issues, we would really appreciate it if you could help us out by trying the below steps:

Method 1: Ensure your volume settings and music genres are set correctly

Launch Pure Chess > Main Menu > My Profile > Options > Audio Volume > Music & Sound Effects

Method 2: Ensure you have set the correct sound device in windows

In Windows, launch Control Panel from the start menu > Sound > Ensure the correct device (headphones or speakers) are set as the "Default Device".

These sound really obvious and aren't intended to sound patronising! We want to test that there is not an issue with the default settings on the game.

Thanks guys, we are hoping to get to the bottom of the issue as soon as possible.

Hello.

I had audio problem. Audio doesn't play through the headphones...

I tried all options (set as default the device, change the frequency rate, etc.), but then I see through the Windows mixer: The sounds where reproduced by the speakers (which were off).

The speaker was not the default device but anyway, maybe is the first device.

I disabled the speaker and restart the game, and the sound begins to be heard through the headphones.

I think is an issue in the game, the default (or active) device is not detected correctly, and that was the solution for me (disable the speaker), but I hope you can fix it in a future patch.

Regards.

[PD] I have an Assus Xonar Phoebus sound card.

Thanks for the update, sorry you were facing issues but glad you managed to find a fix. I will pass this over to the dev team so they can have a look into it.

Sorry, I was wrong.

Install the drivers sound producer. Now, sound works. The problem was the sound driver from Microsoft.

Was there ever a fix for this? My default device is correct. Sound is set to default settings in game (5, 5). Sound happening from other sources. No sound for the game.

OK new update. Sound is going to my headset (wireless USB) instead of to my default device (speakers), If I disconnect the USB dongle for that headset, sound worked. Plug it back in, no sound - regardless of what I have set to default. So somehow the program defaults to a USB wireless headset. So confirmation of same behavior as discussed above.

I just purchased this game just now, I am having the same problem, I have a new pc. Youtube works, the issue is the game, sound is not coming from the game.

I had three audio options including the speakers, so I set it to default and allowed it to be used by audio options, then with the other two audios, set it so that it could NOT be used by by audio. So, eliminate all except one, in my case speakers, this fixed the audio problem for me. The program could only use the speakers, problem solved.

This solution may interfere with other software that wants to use the audio that you set to not be allowed to use, so would have to fix it for other software probably, unless they used speakers.
