The Game

Lifeless Moon is an epic exploration adventure game with a classic science fiction twist.

  • VR support, but also playable without VR.
  • Uncover the mystery of the Moon city and... other destinations.
  • Third-person platforming with an emphasis on exploring fantastic landscapes.
  • First-person puzzles with motion controller interaction in VR mode.
  • Collectible items - Professional voice acting and text logs lend voice to other characters...
  • PC/Mac/Linux and confirmed for Xbox One. Future console announcements coming!
  • Targeting summer 2018 release
  • Live on Kickstarter!

The Story:

During an expedition to the Moon, two astronauts find themselves in a familiar town back on Earth. They soon discover the town is the beginning of a strange and mysterious journey...

Lifeless Moon is a spiritual successor to our previous title Lifeless Planet (PC/Mac/Linux/XB1/PS4). Featuring support for VR (but playable without!), Lifeless Moon takes players on a fantastic journey through the eyes of Apollo-era astronauts. There will be light platforming and a deeper focus on puzzles than in Lifeless Planet. The core game-play experience is one of exploration and discovery, complementing the mysterious and psychological themes of the story.

I would have backed the Kickstarter if I had known about it at the time. From what has been revealed of Lifeless Moon thus far, I think you are on the right track. Not straying too far from the formula of the original game is a good decision. People that back sequels of sorts, usually tend to expect more of the same

I am very much looking forward to this game. I loved Lifeless Planet and can't wait to see a sequel with 2019 graphics.

Update #28 Feb 2 2019:
Well happy to report we got in a good week of progress on Lifeless Moon. This was our first "real" sprint where we tried to focus primarily on this project. There were definitely other demands this week and interruptions, but Lifeless Moon was the main focus, and it definitely paid off...

I’m not entirely sure what it means, but to me it sounds like they are far away from a release date… unfortunately... ooking forward to this game!

I would like to donate, but in exchange for kickstarter rewards. Any chance of that?

Hi, I found out about this game when I was like 10 and the trailer really scared me and interested me at the same time. I then rediscovered it like a week ago, divided to buy it because I just had to know what the game was like it interested me like no game has before. I completed it in two session within 3 hours. The story is good but not perfect same with the presentation. It’s hard to type this all done really I would love to be able to have a conversation about the game to really understand but this will have to do. In hopes this ever gets answered.

1. What is the actual mission the astronauts sent on, like what’s the objective.

2. When I first found the game as a young kid I always assumed it was sent on mars but I now see that’s unlucky, any hint/idea where the planet is in terms of the Milky Way?

3. After reading this thread I understand the ending and how she is listening to the interview from the beginning which I find quite powerful. But I don’t understand what was the time when he left like was it present day the future.

Honestly I could think of more if I had more time but this eventually has to end. I thought the gameplay was decent could of used more exploration and interactivity. If the developer could ever get in contact and take a bit of your time to talk to me about it I would really appreciate it, thank you for making a story that has been stuck in my head since I first found it at like 10.

Hey, whatever happened to this? I really loved Lifeless Planet and have played the story through over and over, it's always been a bit haunting to me and I would LOVE to see more in this series actually come to fruition. Any news or updates?
