What the hell happened to the performance?
before 1.0 I was getting 100-144fps 99% gpu usage. Now, Im getign 60% usage MOST of the time sometimes 90ish but the Frame rate is allllllllllll over the place now.

3800X\6700XT 1440p@ 144hz. SSD

lol, intteresting, before 1.0 my 780M (iGPU) performance was hell, much slower than in FMF1. But now im playing FMF2 full details ain 1440p upscaled to 4K with 80 - 95 FPS, no problem.

I got the GOG version but the same thing has happened there, used to happily run at 4k 120htz now it can't stay at 120 at 1080p. It's not terrible and does stay above 60 but it is a marked decrease. 5700x, 4070ti

Yep, I got sometimes drop to 60fps at 4090.

I brought this up in chat and you wouldnt belive what someone said, i think it was a Moderator .... they said the reason why is: "GPU utilisation is not a good metric of performance, if it was 100% your PC would freeze. Games use what they need. People complain about lag in games sometimes while having top of the line GPUs but low RAM or weak processors."

I notice the frame rate drops when you've killed a lot of enemies and there's a lot of blood and guts on the floors.

try playing native.
Clean 4K native runs "only" around 60, native 4K with AMD FSR Quality (which means upscaled 1440p) looks moreless same with extra 30 FPS bonus. Much better than performance in early access. Not bad for stupid iGPU.

gotta stop this normalization of upscaling. Native only!!! devs need to do better!

Im kinda oldschool gamer.
The best way how I get some extra FPS always was turning off AA lowering of resolution, lowering of details is the desperate last step for me. Upscaling is just a small change.
The Graphic details are important, size of pixels? Who cares?! :happymeat:

Its important especialy in these days when mainstream graphic cards eat energy like crazy goat, some even more power than whole system in years before, and not so many people have energy for free.
Lowend iGPU systems becoming really sexy when you realise that you can run most of new games with some compromises low details today = highest details decade ago, old games and most of indie titles on high or max while whole computer takes just slightly over 100Wats for gaming, compare that with some 16coreCPU Geforce4080.

And AMD iGPUs did a huge progress in last generations, few more generations and 4k gaming on them will be no problem.

im old school gamer too but im not paying $1500 for a computer just to turn all the graphics settings to low lmfao youd be better off just playing on sh*tsole

Having the exact same issue. This game was completely fine for me in early access, no FPS drops whatsoever. Since full release, every couple seconds the game hard stutters and I have bug where I just can't reload the shotgun. I've tried playing full screen, borderless, windowed. V-sync on/off. FPS limit on/off. Tried changing resolution and graphics settings. Literally nothing makes it any better. Such a massive disappointment

My frame rate is consistently well above 60 FPS (usually ~100 FPS) and I have a 1070 Ti, playing at epic quality for everything (max settings).

While I do experience occasional dips here and there, the only really problematic area for me is Ancient City. So, while it could be optimized better, it's certainly not bad. It's reasonable to say that the overall game speed was slowed down from the original in order to accommodate the shinier visuals, while continuing to maintain low input lag.

You should all update your drivers and probably monitor your CPU / RAM usage. It's likely that the problems you're all having is CPU-related.
