Afterfall InSanity Extended Edition

Afterfall InSanity Extended Edition

Well, that was a predictably, terrible game.
Premise
Poland is the only country to survive WW3 because they built a network of sophisticated bomb shelters, game sets up the premise that people are losing their minds due to prolonged “confinement syndrome” from having lived in the shelters for years on end, a saboteur also contaminates the air supply that mutates the shelter's inhabitants into monsters, protagonist is a shrink who experiences the breakdown of the shelter first hand, game heavily alludes that he's a few fries short of a Happy Meal, overall flow of the game feels like one cliché after another, ending can be seen from a mile away, was actually rather badly written beyond the first hour, feels like they had ideas on what the basic outline was but could not find a way to bring it all together or make it coherent, entire section of the game dealing with a surviving tribe of cannibals is just there just to be there and drag out the play time

Audiovisuals
Graphics looks decent, game is too damn dark to see majority of the time, framerate chugs constantly, character animations look extremely robotic or unnatural, seriously think that the color palette and distortion effects actually causes headaches, music is either dramatic or ambiance, dialogue is beyond bland and not even laughably bad

Gameplay
Third-person shooter that's effectively a “Dead Space clone”, guns actually do have a feeling of impact but cannot be used regularly until the last few hours of the game, melee attacks are a complete joke that reduce everything to an extremely terrible version of Punch-Out as you either attack (And miss half of the time) or block (And, still receive damage), physical actions are tied to a stamina bar, game is extremely buggy, enemies either attack one at a time or all at once, game literally chugs or slows everything down to a crawl at a moment's notice and for extended periods of time, regenerative health and “fear” become extremely annoying, save system is broken literally all of the time so you may have to start a couple chapters back than you left off at after exiting the game,

Consensus
Is Afterfall: InSanity a good game? Far from it, there are too many bugs that were never addressed, the story has little direction, and it feels like the entire game was made by copying the work of everyone else. Did I like Afterfall: InSanity? I liked the second boss fight with the scrap monster, but little to nothing else about the game. Did I enjoy Afterfall: InSanity? No because of all the problems mentioned that resulted in me only wanting to finish the game because it started out feeling like the game was going to be a short experience that would be half as long as it actually was. Overall, Afterfall: InSanity is a predictable, terrible, bland game. To sum it up, it feels like the developers wanted to “Play with the big boys” of gaming, but then did nothing except proceed to copy everything that everyone else did and literally think that it was going to result in the game being a knock-out hit.
