As for hours of play, it depends on your patience. Some people just play their favorite 'path' through the game and that can take about 4-5 hours if you actually read everything. A completionist, someone that likes to find all the paths, can have 50-60 hours in game and still not find all paths and solutions, so a good bit of play/replay time.
This is mostly a high fantasy game but it does have some low fantasy paths for the main character to take. If on sale it's WELL worth the price. If not, it's worth it compared to some other games at the same price with the same concepts. This game tends to outshine all the competition in the AVN market for scope and options of play. Another game that also has a large scope is Seeds of Chaos, but that one is updated far less and gets bogged down in re-write fixes and art issues.
TSSR does have some art issues but like SoC it gets fixed, it just takes time.
So, recommend the game, it's worth the price of admission if your budget can handle it and you like exploring all possible sides of Sarah.
SoC is from Venus Noire and published on Steam by the Tiny Hat franchise. I only used that as an example of another AVN that had a large, deep scope. Most AVN's don't give you the kind of depth you see in TSSR or SoC. TSSR is a tighter product than SoC and has more story advancement than SoC which is trying to figure out how to finish up it's first Act and it's taking much longer in it's update cycle than TSSR. Happy Daedalus is going pretty good on the updates front for TSSR.
