questions.
so I don't typically buy Early Access Games, the risk that the game is dropped mid development is there but I saw this game and am very interested. I'm not "new" to early access (I do own 1 other title marked early access) but I wanna know how often this game gets updated? How many hours of game play can be expected in this current form? Can someone answer these questions for me?

It gets updated about every 2-3 months. If the dev has a fire lit inside him, it can get updated more often, but 2-3 is the norm.

As for hours of play, it depends on your patience. Some people just play their favorite 'path' through the game and that can take about 4-5 hours if you actually read everything. A completionist, someone that likes to find all the paths, can have 50-60 hours in game and still not find all paths and solutions, so a good bit of play/replay time.

This is mostly a high fantasy game but it does have some low fantasy paths for the main character to take. If on sale it's WELL worth the price. If not, it's worth it compared to some other games at the same price with the same concepts. This game tends to outshine all the competition in the AVN market for scope and options of play. Another game that also has a large scope is Seeds of Chaos, but that one is updated far less and gets bogged down in re-write fixes and art issues.

TSSR does have some art issues but like SoC it gets fixed, it just takes time.

So, recommend the game, it's worth the price of admission if your budget can handle it and you like exploring all possible sides of Sarah.

I know of Seeds of Chaos. The 1 Early Access title I have is from that developer and it's called 8th heaven. I did try another game from that developer but it was barely 1 hour long in play time (which is why I wanna make sure this title isn't like that. I get that a game in early access isn't expected to be perfect, let alone finished but I don't wanna pay $10 for a 30 minute play time. From what you said this game isn't like that? Does that mean the story portion is finished? So no cliffhangers?

Story is unfinished at this time. There are minor paths that are finished, but none of the main 3 paths are completed. It feels like it's about 80-90% complete overall, but there are a lot of paths that are fairly wide open. I don't see the game as being complete until each path reaches it's full conclusion and the sub paths that are left open also find their ends or reincorporation into the main paths they split from.

SoC is from Venus Noire and published on Steam by the Tiny Hat franchise. I only used that as an example of another AVN that had a large, deep scope. Most AVN's don't give you the kind of depth you see in TSSR or SoC. TSSR is a tighter product than SoC and has more story advancement than SoC which is trying to figure out how to finish up it's first Act and it's taking much longer in it's update cycle than TSSR. Happy Daedalus is going pretty good on the updates front for TSSR.

Ah ok. I'll definitely buy this then. I just wanted to know what I was getting into. Thanks
Don't get me wrong. SoC is a good game but it's more hardcore than TSSR and involves corruption themes and some really hard moral choices. In fact, you cannot play it in a 'pure' moral sense because to be truely 'good' (in the classical sense) you'd have to have your character killed before the end of the introduction and that doesn't make for a fun game.... or a long one. So, if you are into playing 'pure good' avoid SoC at all costs, you can't play it that way.

Ok, I'll keep that in mind. I have played some very off games in that sense so this wouldn't be the first. Thanks for the warning and answering all my questions.
