my favorite pc game of all time

The original Thief is one of the best pioneers for games that rely on stealth, and even 20 years later, its level design and eerie atmosphere hold up. It's not as massive or as ambitious as Thief 2, nor as grimdark as Thief 3, but it laid the groundwork for both of those games in its creation of a world in which you are truly at the mercy of every ray of light or footstep.

If you're into stealth games now and you want to see how developers made them work with much more limited resources, play this game and be amazed.
