Today, I’m thrilled to announce that Direct Contact has officially been updated to Unreal Engine 5.5.1. This is a significant milestone as we continue evolving with the latest engine technologies. However, there are still some limitations with plugin support:

🎮 Engine Upgrade & Plugin Status

Successfully upgraded to Unreal Engine 5.5.1
DLSS: Custom workaround implemented while awaiting official NVIDIA update
Plugin integration ongoing for remaining components

Happy New Year, everyone!

DLSS: NVIDIA has not yet updated their official DLSS plugin for this version, but I’ve managed to find a workaround.
Other Plugins: A few other plugins are not fully compatible yet, but I’m working on integrating them as best as possible.

Key Updates and Changes

Megalight System:

All lighting in the game now utilizes the new Megalight system introduced in UE5.5. This provides improved visuals and performance.

Skeleton Meshes and Nanite Support:

For the first time, skeleton meshes can now be converted to the Nanite system. I’ve started transitioning some assets to take advantage of this, though it’s still a work in progress.

HQ Overhaul:

The HQ map had persistent issues with landscape saving, which caused major problems. To resolve this, 80% of the HQ has been reworked.
The HQ is now surrounded by a large wall, dramatically improving FPS and providing a more stable experience for most players.
Please note: The HQ is still a work in progress and may undergo further changes as we optimize it.

New Map: "Norway":

To celebrate winter, I’ve brought back the popular Norwegian Underground Facility map that many of you enjoyed during our Patreon sessions.
The map has been updated to fit the new engine but retains all its core functionality.
You’ll find this mission under the Norwegian Section on the mission board.

This map is still in development, and I’ll continue refining it in future updates.

STILL CRASHING?

even after this new update the game is still crashing on suicide vest explosions after an enemy is down an you go to confirm the kill an he leaves you a little present an the grenade goes off the explosion causes the game to freeze an crash back to the home screen. anyone else still encountering this issue? other then that deff enjoying the NEW UPDATE KEEP UP THE AMAZING WORK!!!

Game Crash

Every time there is an explosion the game crashes, I'll play when this is fixed. This is not my computer, it's the game that has the problem. Crashed at 15:33 https://youtu.be/pGMdhwvr0J4
