mods not working

I have both sh and u boats add on I have tried to use JSME 2.6 and mod RFD 2.0 it does not work or the game crashes I think I have them load in the right place in the sh uboat folder please any help would be greatful please let me know which folder and where in that folder to place them
And one more thing do I have to restart a new game or can I use an old save?
Any help would be very great full

I am playing with FOTRSU 1.8 and some more mods and so far no problems, gladly would share some experience and knowledge learned. I use Nid ebabler 2.6.0.157 fom subsim

I would like that
1 where co I put jsme at what folder and place
2 I am using google chrome if that matters
3 I bought game from steam if that matters I have both sh4 and the u boat add on
4 and where is the most reliable place to get mods?
5 Last one do I have to start a new game or will these mods work on a save game?

Strong recommendation to go to Subsim and look up info for mods and installation there. A lot of experience with the program and the mods on their forums. And they are good at answering questions. A bit of files and folders knowledge is needed when going into the world of mods on this kind of game.
One question, Kcw. You are trying to run RFB the Real Fleet Boats mod? I don't know of any RFD mod. And the mod enabler tool is named JSGME.
Once you get your mod setup straight, you will most likely have to start a new career or missions. But your experience will help you.
