This review has been written as of patch 1.7. While I understand some of these features stated below are in the works I feel they deserve mentioning.

Sun Haven shares similarities with games like Stardew Valley, but it stands out thanks to its unique magic and skill systems. These systems are enjoyable, though require better balancing for multiplayer, as some global skills are essential for progression, forcing multiple players to select them. With continued development, this game has the potential to become immensely popular. Thanks to input from my friends, I’ve compiled a list of bugs to be fixed and quality-of-life features to consider adding.

Bugs and Glitches (Multiplayer)
1. Spouse Glitch: Spouses stack in each house (host side), only one person can sleep with their spouse as a result.
2. De-sync problems:
Selling portal access doesn’t align visually between players
Events do not sync between clients
Occasionally day will not progress for one player while it progresses for the rest (On one screen it says fri day 6 for everyone else its sat day 7)
3. Item Deletion: Items vanish randomly, especially after leaving a zone despite other players staying in the zone.
4. Performance: Significant lag, especially in Withergate causing parkour to be nearly impossible at times.
5. Hitbox Issues: Hits sometimes don’t register despite visually hitting
6. NPC Pathing: NPC’s occasionally move into unreachable areas
7. Player Visibility: Players occasionally become invisible. A specific issue occurs when disabling a transformation from a potion in one area (e.g., Withergate, Nel’Vari) and then teleporting to another (e.g., Sun Haven). For other players in the teleported area, the character remains transformed until the potion is used again.
8. Pet Glitches: Leashed pets appear across the map for other players depending on the zone they are in.
9. Texture bugs: Invisible/wrong textures for grass in Nel’Vari and Withergate (Especially after a player in multiplayer leaves and rejoins)


Possible QOL add-ons.
1. Creative Mode: Helps mitigate frustration from bugs by regaining lost items
2. Tool Upgrades: Allow higher tiers of watering cans and hoes to water larger areas (Can also buff the rain/earthquake spell so it doesn't become redundant)
3. Enhanced Scythe: Allow scythe to remove dead crops, also add upgrades to scythe
4. New Farm Types: Add new farm types to choose from upon world creation.
5. Player Marriage
6. Optional PVP
7. Expanded Crafting: Utilize more fish types in food


Despite its current bugs and performance issues, Sun Haven is a fun and promising game. With proper attention, it could truly shine. Myself and my friends already enjoy the game and these additions would help with not only our enjoyment but the enjoyment of others.

I'm so in love with this game. The devs put so much love & care into it, massive updates & actually listen to their fanbase. As much as I get people are mad at the paid DLC, they're all skins & not essential to gameplay, plus the fact this is possible to play online with friends. I like buying the DLCs so I can support the devs further.

Pets are purely aesthetic, you can have them inside your houses, walking free on your farms & have one follow you around on a leash - you can also buy from a shop in late game. Mounts are great but realistically you only need one mount pack as they all work in the same way/same speed & are skins. You can also obtain mounts in-game with your seasonal tokens early on or in a shop later, so technically no DLC is necessary. It's just handy to have a mount sent to your mailbox in early game.

The specific DLC items/pets/mounts are not available in-game unless you buy them, but that makes sense because if you could obtain them in-game regardless there's no incentive to buy the DLC at all.

I love Pixel Sprout & will continue to support them. They've expanded on a lot on areas Stardew could've improved on & I love the diversity of the characters & all the fantasy races to choose from. The NPCs' backstories ard fleshed out & three-dimensional. Interacting with all of them is an integral part of the main story at one point or another, so it encourages you to get to know each character individually.

TL;DR
10/10 would get bullied by demons again

Absolutely hate giving this game a negative recommendation, I absolutely love it, but the greed from the developers as of recent is absurd. Every pack is like 3 times what would be reasonable. The new store system feels a little like they are avoiding the chance of DLC packs being review bombed since the community seems to agree that its pure greed at this point. $25 unfinished game with $363 worth of cosmetic DLC? One of my absolute favorite games of all time so it's disappointing seeing a small dev alienate their fanbase with shady actions.
