Thoughts after demo (combat doesn't feel fun)

I'm a huge dark souls fan, so this looked promising -- top/down action/adventure/rpg with dark souls mechanics.. cool -- only problem is the gameplay is kind of a chore to play. I'm not saying monsters need to die in one/two shots, but it feels super clunky. Parrying feels useless, and dodge rolling doesn't have any i-frames (which is fine, if combat would be designed better with this in mind). For anyone who has the full version, is the game a massive slog in the beginning, only to pick up pace later on...

Is there a way to change quick slot items, without equipping something from the inventory? Seems weird to me that I can't check out or remove them.

[Bug] Lorn the Blind

Hi devs! Found a lil bug! I fought The good old Blind Boss, but we killed each others with joy and hapiness But! Surprise! After he died, i saw that he was speaking but had just like 2 lines of it as the game required me to revive. I unlocked the achievement but didnt unlocked him in the Bestiary. Also... When i came back, no signs of loot... That doesnt prevent to go futher in the game but i feel like i've missed something... And something big... Also is there an hidden weight system? Could be nice to...

Consequences of death

Just starterld playing the full game. Are there any consequences to death? Doesn't seem like there are. I think it might have been better to have information pop up on certain occasions, like after a character's first death, instead of having physical books lie around permanently....

Series X/S Controller issues

Game is unplayable with the new Xbox controller, at least on my setup. The triggers seem swapped with the select/start buttons. RT and LT won't do anything and select button will crouch, and start is the long range weapon.

A very nice game.
I really like the theme of the game and its fitting atmosphere, the areas and the creature design.
There are plenty of weapons and other items making the gameplay less dull.

As for the gameplay, the controls can get sluggish and quite frustrating at times.
The game is adequately challenging, however, there are some moments where the game becomes either too easy, or too hard.
Sometimes the next boss is easier to defeat than the previous one, but that may vary on your loadout and strategy.
