Jeff Bailey Joins Stack Overflow Leadership Team as Chief Revenue Officer

Tech veteran to support growing SaaS and API businesses with focus on Knowledge-as-a-Service.

New York City – September 5, 2024 - Stack Overflow today announced the appointment of Jeff Bailey as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) and his addition to its senior leadership team. A veteran technology leader with more than 30 years of experience across the SaaS and API landscapes, he will be responsible for leading the revenue organization with a strong focus on expanding upon the OverflowAPI business and knowledge-as-a-Service enterprise product line.

Most recently, Bailey served as Chief Revenue Officer at Pinwheel where he led commercial growth across new and existing customers, and also expanded Pinwheel's supply-side network of strategic relationships. Jeff also served as CRO at Payscale, where he was responsible for rearchitecting and leading all revenue functions, which led to a revenue growth from $80M in 2020 to $220M in 2022. Prior to Payscale, Jeff spent ten years at ServiceSource, where he closed many complex deals ranging up to several billion dollars in revenue with companies including Cisco, Microsoft, Red Hat, Symantec, and Dropbox.

“The tech landscape continues to shift and with every disruption and innovation, Stack Overflow must do its part to evolve, especially in the modern GenAI era. We are at the forefront of the next age of the internet and Stack Overflow is playing an active part in developing its future,” said Prashanth Chandrasekar, CEO of Stack Overflow. “As we add new features, functions and products across our platform to meet customer and user demands we must also look to new leaders to help us bring these offerings to market. This is an exciting time in our company’s history and adding Jeff to our ranks ensures we are able to rise to meet the opportunities in front of us. ”

“The world’s leading LLM providers are in need of a trusted, accurate and continually evolving knowledge base to the most sought after technical problems at their fingertips when they need it most,” said Bailey. “Stack Overflow’s Knowledge as a Service concept aims to address this need, and is why I am excited to join the Stack Overflow team. Knowledge-as-a-service goes beyond content creation, and creates an ecosystem for developing, validating, and reinforcing knowledge while making it accessible to communities across domains, enterprises, and AI providers. In the years ahead, Stack’s product line will become the central player in the AI knowledge ecosystem. I look forward to playing a role in making that happen with our partners and customers.”

The appointment of a new Chief Revenue Officer comes after the recent additions of Susan Walker as the company’s Chief Financial Officer and Ryan Polk as the company's new Chief Product Officer.
