Version 4.4.0 is an update to Splatoon 2 that was released on 30 January 2019 at 01:00 UTC.[1]
New content
Stage
- Kelp Dome underwent renovation, similar to the changes made to Starfish Mainstage in Version 4.0.0, The Reef in Version 4.2.0 and Blackbelly Skatepark in Version 4.3.0.
- Added a slope near the box in front of the spawn point in Splat Zones.
- Changed the terrain on the left of the spawn point in Tower Control, Rainmaker and Clam Blitz.

Fixes and adjustments
Ranked Battle
- Fixed a problem where the landing point when super jumping near a specific sponge was different depending on the player's side in The Reef.
- Fixed an issue where the floor might not be inked when throwing a Booyah Bomb between a conveyor belt and the terrain at Piranha Pit.
- Fixed a problem where Ink Mines placed on a specific part of a slope in Blackbelly Skatepark Rainmaker would detonate immediately.
- Fixed an issue in Camp Triggerfish where super jumping to a specific location then activating a Booyah Bomb at the moment of landing could cause the player to fall out of bounds.
- Fixed an issue where dodge-rolling near a sponge at the center of Port Mackerel could cause the player to clip into the terrain.
- Fixed a problem where super jump marker could move inside the terrain when landing at a specific location in Wahoo World.
- Fixed an issue in Wahoo World where using the Booyah Bomb while being pushed by the rotating floor in the center could clip the player into the terrain.
- When using Swim Speed Up with certain "slow" class weapons, the walking speed when shooting was higher than the normal walking speed. Fixed this movement speed.
- The applicable "slow" class weapons are Splattershot, .52 Gal, Dynamo Roller and E-liter 4K.
- Fixed an issue where a player might be dragged along if a moving player overlaps them while in squid form.
- Fixed a problem where the display of opposing players when using Sting Ray would disappear immediately when pressing .
- Using Run Speed Up with a high-effect weapon such as the Mini Splatling would also cause the run speed to increase while holding the Rainmaker.
- Fixed an issue that caused an opponent dodge-rolling with Dualie-type weapons to instantly appear at the target location.
Salmon Run
- Fixed a problem causing cannons' projectiles to not directly hit enemies that are close together.
- Fixed a problem in Marooner's Bay where getting caught between a propeller lift and a Scrapper could cause the player to clip into the terrain.
Other changes
- Fixed a problem where the shoulder straps of the ink tank would disappear when an opposing player was splatted or submerged.
- Fixed a problem where the red lines that indicated the ink requirement for sub weapons may point to the bottom of the tank when attempting to throw a clam in Clam Blitz.
