Talk:C-Side
Song from Direct
A few new C-Side songs can be heard in the Direct. On the Australian Splatoon 3 website, there is a video for stages, where one of them can be heard properly without any narration. It has no name, otherwise I would of added it. Should it be added as trivia at least? Here is the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mjjsG_Nrub8 GX_64 (talk) 12:22, 11 August 2022 (UTC)
- Let's just leave it for now and wait for Nintendo to confirm the song name. This applies with the new unnamed Front Roe song too, OrderSquid38 (talk) 12:27, 11 August 2022 (UTC)
New Album art
Just wanted to say that there's a new picture of c-side album art in the ask the developers interview part 1 with a couple changes (middle member has new earrings and their hair is more saturated, the band member to the right has a white hoodie instead of black and the text is different). I'm just not 100% sure if it's new version of the art or an older version. If not I would've added it with it's respective captions. Here's the link btw: https://www.nintendo.com/whatsnew/ask-the-developer-vol-7-splatoon-3-part-1/ Kazami*21*Kazami*21* (talk) 11:35, 8 September 2022 (UTC)
- Wow good job noticing that! It might be an early version of the art, since there is other concept art in the interview. The middle member's shirt also has a different pattern. I have added it to the gallery with a description. GX_64 (talk) 11:55, 8 September 2022 (UTC)
C-Side Guy design's localized/changed?
On the splatoon jpn and na twitter they posted the jukebox and showed C-Side art, however something that is a bit odd is that on the japan tweet they use the album art for their first design that was revealed and on the north amercian tweet they used the one with the lighting bolt so i wonder if that was either a mistake or intentional Heyguys (talk) 19:19, 23 February 2023 (UTC)
- It seems to have no significance. There are other differences, so it probably is from either an earlier or later stage of development. Miss Delibirda (talk) 19:22, 23 February 2023 (UTC)
Members' information
I want to know do C-side members have more detailed information. If there are, where can I see? Kimnal (talk) 09:19, 21 June 2023 (UTC)
- There is some more information about them in the Splatune 3 articles Splatune_3#Articles. GX_64 (talk) 11:44, 21 June 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you! Kimnal (talk) 10:47, 23 June 2023 (UTC)
beka squid wikipedia link isnt the right one?
the wikipedia link goes to a group of squids, rather than the beka squid species in particular. this should be an easy fix though, since there is a wikipedia page for loligo beka, the correct page. ASARIDEAD (talk) 04:24, 9 December 2023 (UTC)
Yohske Yamamoto
When you click on Yohske Yamamoto's page it says that the page has been deleted when it should link to his section on List of guitarists for the Splatoon series. I don't know how to fix this, if someone smarter than me could do it that would be much appreciated. Petal Mail (talk) 23:50, 10 March 2024 (UTC)
Kiki's gender?
Any Twitter post that certifies it in Japanese? The edit about her French name (lol I didn't know about…that) points to a Twitter post saying "la guitariste", with "la" being a female article. After all, Kiki's names and voice actress pretty much imply the character is female (same for Baker and Walter being males). Spleet (talk) 10:52, 28 May 2024 (UTC)
- You're welcome to mention in a note that that specific tweet (by a dubiously authoritative source) uses 'la guitariste' if you like, although given that French is a fairly strictly gendered language by nature and that other localizations have made no mention of Kiki's gender as far as I'm aware, it should not be taken or stated as definitive proof. Baker and Walter even less so. Driftin Soul [Talk!] 11:03, 28 May 2024 (UTC)
- That's why I'm talking about Japanese. Then why is that a dubious source? It's the official Nintendo of France account. I know the Splatoon community likes its inclusivity, but why should we erase or not document instances where a gender is mentioned? :/ After all, if we can speculate what the species of the members are (which directly conflicts with the "no speculation" policy), or report "implied" characteristics or dynamics that have never been officially confirmed, why can't implied genders be stated? Pretty much everyone on the internet, unless headcanoning otherwise, refers to Kiki as "the C-side girl". Spleet (talk) 11:45, 28 May 2024 (UTC)
- We haven't done so because our info on the bands historically comes from translations of HaikaraWalker that rassicas published on their Twitter and Tumblr, and in HaikaraWalker, they don't always use specifically gendered pronouns. I don't think we should do what you're saying, as gender is much harder to infer than species, and we have seen that Orion and Acht use they/them pronouns in English. Olivia (talk) 12:02, 28 May 2024 (UTC)
- I'll just wait then. Spleet (talk) 12:07, 28 May 2024 (UTC)
- Sorry, but I think you're strongly misrepresenting what I said. Nowhere did I state or even imply that the mention should be "erase[d] or not document[ed]"; in fact, I specifically welcomed you to add it as a note while elaborating on why it should not be seen or presented as definitive proof of gender in general.
- To elaborate even further, though: Splatoon_FRA, as I understand it, is best described as a semi-official account that receives some promotional materials from Nintendo but has elements of being community-run; several of our French editors have expressed negative sentiment about the officiality of the account. It can be sourced where appropriate, but should not be seen as having the same level of reliability as Nintendo France themselves, especially when the information given is unsupported by other official sources. Driftin Soul [Talk!] 11:56, 30 May 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you then. Sorry about it. Spleet (talk) 12:38, 30 May 2024 (UTC)
- It's not an official account? Olivia (talk) 13:04, 30 May 2024 (UTC)

citation on species?
this is pedantic, but i want to add sources citations. anyone know where the species info comes from? Nondescript (talk) 04:12, 7 September 2024 (UTC)
- I think it comes from their names in Japanese. GX_64 (talk) 04:46, 7 September 2024 (UTC)
- thank you, that makes sense! Nondescript (talk) 05:04, 7 September 2024 (UTC)
