Red Battlecrab Shell
The Red Battlecrab Shell is a piece of clothing in Splatoon 3.
It is a 2-star item produced by Enperry and comes with the primary ability Sub Resistance Up.
It can be purchased from Man-o'-Wardrobe for 
6,200 or from SplatNet 3 Shop for 9,300.
Appearance
The Red Battlecrab Shell is a red protective vest with a long-sleeved patterned shirt underneath. The vest's front resembles a crab's face, with a combination of convex elements, characteristic shapes and rounded edges. The vest also possesses numerous a white frame and scarlet straps. The rear features a pad covering the wearer's lumbar region, also referencing a crab's anatomy. It appears to hang on a pair of thick shoulder pads attached from above. The shirt is dark blue, with a wide red stripe in the middle and two smaller ones on the forearms, with other white elements. A golden Enperry label can be seen on the bosom of the vest, along a golden Enperry writing on the left of the front convex part.

The Red Battlecrab Shell was first revealed in the announcement trailer for Splatoon 3 on 17 February 2021. The "Battlecrab Shell" naming was revealed on 27 May 2022,[1][2] although datamining the Splatoon 3 Splatfest World Premiere (pre-loaded on 18 August 2022) reveals that the red variant of the vest is its own piece of gear.
Abilities
The Red Battlecrab Shell comes with Sub Resistance Up as the primary ability when purchased from a shop or ordered from Murch. When purchased from SplatNet 3, it comes with any other primary ability normally available to Clothing (with the exception of Ability Doubler). As a 2-star item, the Red Battlecrab Shell comes with three additional slots for secondary abilities. The star level may be increased with Super Sea Snails for 1 (first), 1 (second), 5 (third), 10 (fourth), or 20 (fifth) Super Sea Snails per star, or by purchasing additional copies of it from Man-o'-Wardrobe for 10,000 (first), 30,000 (second), 50,000 (third), 100,000 (fourth), or 200,000 (fifth) Cash per star. Increasing the star level beyond 2 stars will increase the gear experience gained by a cumulative 3.333…% up to 10% additional experience at 5-star level. Since it is made by the Enperry gear brand, it has a higher chance of rolling Sub Power Up and a lower chance of rolling Ink Resistance Up to fill its secondary ability slots.
