Battle Defeat is a song from Splatoon.
Description
This song follows up on Defeat – Jingle when the player's team loses a match. If the player wins a match, Battle Victory plays instead. It is a gloomy theme, meant to convey the despair felt after the loss of a match, featuring prominent electronic sound effects and drum beats. The jingle has a "burp" sound, quite similar to various Turquoise October songs.

During the Past vs. Present vs. Future Splatfest in Splatoon 3, a special Grand Festival variation of Battle Defeat could be played as the battle defeat theme. It was heard by players on the losing team in a match between two teams on Team Past. The intro jingle is replaced by a shorter one that lasts only 2 seconds. The main section is sped up slightly and features more extensive percussion and an additional synth lead. At the 12-second mark, the percussion plays on its own for 2 seconds, after which the song features the melody from Liquid Sunshine.
Trivia
- In WarioWare: Get It Together!, an arrangement of the jingle is played when the winning team in the Splatoon 2 microgame is guessed incorrectly. The jingle is sped up in accordance with the microgame's speed.
- Part of this song or the jingle is used by a LINE sticker from the Splatoon: Inkling Injection pack, portraying a sulking Inkling.
