Rhinobatos annandalei Norman, 1926

  • Syntypes: BMNH 1909.7.12.1-2 [ex ZSI] (2).

Type locality: East channel, mouth of Hughli [Hooghly] River, India, depth 40 fathoms.

Etymology: in honor of zoologist-anthropologist Thomas Nelson Annandale (1876-1924), Director, Indian Museum (Calcutta), who had published many papers on the fishes of India, including a 1909 account of this species. (From: The ETYFish project)
