- Type: R. Kanehira & S. Hatusima 12778 (in flower, 11 March 1940; Isotypes: A 00041423(GBIF, JSTOR), TI 02475).
- Type locality: [Indonesia.] New Guinea: Boemi, Nabire, in rain-forests on a ridge, at about 500 m. altitude.
